As such, her work is embedded in the community and is often highly responsive to current issues of war and crisis. В иллюстрировании книг важно выбрать верную цветовую гамму, которая передавала бы общую задумку в оформлении. От цвета зависит очень многое, он создаёт настроение и вызывает у читателей определённые эмоции. Иногда попадаются художественные произведения, где в тексте делается акцент на определённый цвет, в балладах такой приём очень популярен и в основном это золотой цвет. Упоминание золотого цвета в балладном повествовании не всегда используется, чтобы показать ценность и стоимость предмета, золотой цвет упоминается, когда происходит что-то мистическое, волшебное. Этот факт натолкнул меня на мысль, что в моих иллюстрациях использование золотого обязательно. Оставалось решить, какой будет остальная цветовая гамма. Чтобы выделить золотой цвет, общий тон иллюстраций я решила сделать тёмным, а в качестве дополнительных цветов использовать сложные оттенки зелёного, коричневого, синего. Today printmaking professor @lbigalke invited me to her class to present an artist talk @carthagecollege. I had the opportunity to share my experiences as an artist with an awesome group of up and coming printmakers. I was impressed by the projects the students were creating and even more impressed by the awesome questions that the students asked me during my presentation. JayCee grew up in the Four Corners area of New Mexico and is now based in Denver, Colorado. His connection to his Dine (Navajo) culture is the foundation of his artistic practice where he can share his identity, background, and pride in who he is and where he comes from. JayCee began his Artistic and Graphic Design career with his discovery of street art and graffiti. Using a combination of spray paints and acrylics, he celebrates the fusion of technology with Indigenous culture, primarily in paintings and murals. JayCee's work is deeply influenced by music, while the combination of traditional Indigenous ideologies with his Buddhist practice is equally important to his artmaking, through which he strives to illuminate core concepts and convictions: the Laws of Movement, Unity and Impermanence. JayCee was awarded a two-year art residency at Redline Contemporary Art Center in Denver, Colorado to aid in generating new works to provide authentic representation of Indigenous Peoples in the Denver metro area.
