Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009) *** SYNOPSIS Security guard Larry Daley infiltrates the Smithsonian Institution in order to rescue Jedediah and Octavius, who have been shipped to the museum by mistake. *** REVIEW It's almost as if the writers/producers thought "Just how silly can we go?"... It's enjoyable for sure, but I feel the first movie had more substance, and as a whole, I did prefer the first. It's a little impressive that they went perhaps a little over-the-top with the comedy, and still made it a lot of fun. The characters we love, mixed with a new ridiculous assortment of new characters is both hilariously bad, but just brilliant. If you just want a lighthearted movie to put on in the background or something for a lazy afternoon, then this movie is perfect for just that! And…….happy 15th anniversary to ‘Night At the Museum!’ A thoroughly enjoyable family flick based on the children’s book of the same name. This is a fun and exciting adventure movie that Ive always liked, bringing together a huge cast of supporting characters, anchored by Ben Stiller’s lead performance. A genuinely good fantasy that kicked one of the more consistently solid franchises of the last two decades as well. 🔦🦖🤠🏇🏾🗿

Lá em 2006, chegava aos cinemas #UmaNoitenoMuseu, estrelado por #BenStiller e nomes como #RobinWilliams, #OwenWilson e #PaulRudd. Nesse filme, acompanhamos a vida de Larry Daley, um segurança noturno que trabalha no Museu Americano de História Natural. Durante o desenrolar da história, Larry descobre que as figuras históricas do museu ganham vida durante a noite. Daí em diante, o filme segue aquela receita já consagrada do cinema que mistura um pouco de comédia com aventura e magia. Um ótimo filme, que teve um relativo sucesso de crítica e também de público. Assim, no ano de 2009, chegava aos cinemas #UmaNoitenoMuseu2. Nesse novo longa, o Museu de Nova York acaba se renovando e, com isso, os personagens do museu são enviados para o arquivo do Instituto Smithsonian em Washington DC. Neste local, também existem outras figuras históricas e que acabam ganhando vida. Há um faraó malvado que quer aproveitar a situação para trazer o seu exército do além e conquistar o mundo. Por isso, Larry é contactado por seus antigos amigos e parte em direção à capital americana para resolver os problemas. Diferentemente do primeiro longa, essa sequência não foi muito bem vista pelo público e nem pela crítica especializada. Aproveitando o lançamento do segundo filme, foi desenvolvido um jojinho chamado #NightattheMuseum #BattleoftheSmithsonian - The Video Game, que buscava adaptar os acontecimentos do filme e adicionava algumas coisinhas a mais. O gameplay era simples. O jogador assumia o controle de Larry, que precisa enfrentar uma série de plataformas, combinadas com trechos de combate e exploração, para completar as fases. Os gráficos eram fracos até mesmo para época e tentavam ser uma versão mais caricata dos atores. As críticas foram extremamente mornas e o público também achou o jogo apenas ok. Não era ruim, mas também não era uma maravilha. Eu adorava os filmes. Eram divertidos e engraçados. Já o jogo, nunca joguei, embora tivesse bastante curiosidade em jogá-lo na época.
