Det var dock en skön och inkluderande grupp, som man, inte ens om man försöker, får att skryta eller se ner på en vanlig dödlig degklump som jag, som vi fick hållet möte med i Aalborg i går. 🤪😍 Nästa galna projekt - 6-dagars lopp runt en liten sjö om ca fyra månader, skulle presenteras och diskuteras med löparna, samtidigt som vi skulle få en onlinepresentation av årets val av välgörenhet; Smilfonden, som hjälper familjer med barn med kronisk sjukdom. ❤️ För precis som till förra årets 72-timmarslopp runt samma sjö, går vi inte bara efter rekord. Än viktigare är ju att få samlat in pengar till där de behövs. Det var ju fantastiskt att höra dessutom, att förra årets mottagare, Skyggebørn, inte bara har fått användning för de närmare 700 000 svenska kronor vi fick in i fjol. Bieffekten av den uppmärksamhet de fick som organisation, bland annat med 2,7 miljoner tittare under liveutsändningen från loppet, har tydligen varit än mer imponerande, med löpande donationer efteråt. ❤️ Tänk om vi kan göra något liknande för Smilfonden i år?! Båda är ju förhoppningsvis små organisationer som gör en stor skillnad för utsatta barn och deras familjer. I drove some of these paintings to Regina last Thursday and, as luck would have it, Jeremy from Assiniboia Gallery was traveling to Winnipeg on the weekend. He graciously agreed to deliver a few to Jenny at Woodlands Gallery. Teamwork 🙌. Shipping is so expensive, it really helps to have these kindnesses offered. Also, can we talk about the time it saved me from having to box and ship everything ✨️?! I'm practically delirious with joy when I don't have to tackle that job 😆. Anyone with me? . I came home with these sizes after my six week artist residency in Vernon 🙆♀️. Through the weeks, I tried to gauge my mood and really focus on what I wanted to create rather than listen to my inner voice hassle me with "But galleries need 8x8's! Paint them!!" I felt motivated to paint large, so that's what I did. . Yes, it's a lot of work in a relatively short time, but that's the beauty of a residency. It was 6 glorious weeks fully immersed in the creative zone. My biggest obligation was making sure I ate. Aside from that it was all about being in the moment and letting my passion flow with very few uninterruptions. When @kimrempelart arrived for her 3 weeks, the concern, if any, was in being distracted. However, having her there upped the creativity and excitement because we talked so much art! . The 4 - 20x16's are the start of a special project I've been trying to tackle for 3 years. There have been some false starts, but I think I'm finally onto something good. I bought myself a Mk1 Audi TT 225 Quattro and took it to my first track day in 2023 to see what the car was like and what improvements needed to be done because no car is ever perfect- there is always something that can be better. 2024 is the year for upgrades and improvements. 2025 is the year I will hopefully be competing.
