This is the second of two paintings I did from #BatteryPoint #portishead this afternoon. I really enjoyed starting with paint on the palette and using it thicker than I have done for a while on landscapes. Saturday night we headed out for night exercises on board #KingTwbi in a beautiful moonlit sea. 4.5hrs navigating the Buoys offshore in the Bristol Channel in the pitch black dark on Saturday night with @osianrudy and Mathew. We went out to the Breaksea safe-water mark which is a few miles offshore near Aberthaw, and then back against the tide. Clocking up Night Hours and mileage with the ever increasing daylight savings hours will mean later and later nights. This is the second of two paintings I did from #BatteryPoint #portishead this afternoon. I really enjoyed starting with paint on the palette and using it thicker than I have done for a while on landscapes. This is probably the first time I’ve done two paintings in a session since before the pandemic, it’s a good feeling! It certainly made up for the chilliness.
