One of Dorset's most famous landmarks, Old Harry Rocks ๐ชจ The gentle walk from the South Beach Car Park on Studland to Old Harry Rocks ends in dramatic fashion as the iconic chalk formations come into view. The unique rock formations, with around 100 million years of history behind them, are a must see for any road trip in Dorset! Itโs believed that the rock stack was named after Harry Paye, a famous local pirate and smuggler from Poole in the late 14th century. ๐ดโโ ๏ธ โOld Harryโ is also a nickname for the devil which many believe is the real origin. The walk from the car park is around 1 mile there and another 1 mile back. Wheal Coates, St Agnes Head, Cornwall๐๐๏ธ A remote and tranquil spot set up high on the north Cornish coast clifftops. Clovelly, North Devon๐๐ผ A beautiful, picturesque fishing village, steeped in maritime atmosphere and history. This village, once owned by the Queen of England, is situated on a steep hill - so make sure to pack some sturdy footwear! ๐ฅพ๐ When it rains the cobbles do become slippy, I would say walking boots are the best option to prevent any ankle rolls. Follow the cobbled streets filled with colourful cottages up to the top of the cliffs from the harbour (you might spot the residents using sledges to drag their shopping up the hill). There are some fantastic tea rooms, restaurants and a pub here! ๐ท๐ฐ๐บ The stone beach has a wonderful waterfall thatโs worth the short scramble to reach. Clovelly is a unique location thatโs incredibly popular with international tourists and when you visit, youโll see exactly why that is.
