We are back to showcasing one of my favorite details around Disney World property that doesn’t get enough love: chandeliers and lighting elements! Here is feature No. 14! Be sure to reference back for the previous 13 I shared! This one comes to you from Citricos, a restaurant located at The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This venue was refurbished only in recent years to the theme of Mary Poppins Returns (the sequel). The lighting elements here are STUNNING! Not only this gorgeous pendant seen as we walked in with our hostess, but the upside-down “umbrella-esque” fixtures as well! They were created to mimic Mary’s Umbrella from the film. The design is really unique and casts this beautiful laced lighting effect. This refurbishment was the much needed update this restaurant needed! This weekend, we had a fabulous meal at Flying Fish! 🐟 If you haven’t ever been to this signature restaurant, I suggest you try it! We got the Lobster Bisque, the Potato-wrapped Red Snapper, and the Filet Mignon. It was all so yummy! 💙

⭐️ Food Review ⭐️ ⚓️Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian is very popular and known for its ambience and delicious dishes. I knew I had to try it for my 40th birthday and while we loved the ambience, apps, & drinks, and liked our entrees, I will be honest, this wasn’t my favorite dining experience at Disney. I was also surprised by the lack of dress code enforcement as we were the fanciest at the restaurant. Drinks were amazing: 🍹I had the White Sangria and it was zero waste with strawberry infused into the ice cube and a refreshing sprig of mint. Delightful! 🥃 Taylor had the Old Fashioned and it was very smooth. Maybe too sweet, have them half the simple syrup at the end (they add it last). Loved the stamped ice cube. Classy touch 🧊 We tried two apps: 🦞 Lobster bisque was amazing. I could have filled up on just this and 🐙Calamari with marinara - yum. I don’t like the chewy nature of calamari typically but I loved this. Taylor said it was the best he has ever had and he adores calamari. We could pass on the pickled veggies though. Entrees: 🥩 I chose the Strip and while the potatoes were amazing, the actual steak was cold and disappointing. Hopefully that’s just me. I was bummed though. 🥓Taylor chose the Pork Chop. He didn’t love the Johnny Cakes but loved the greens. We heard it was the best but he said it was bland. It was a big pork chop though! We were a bit underwhelmed but also know that the views of the fireworks, overall ambience (and that bread with the whipped butter and sea salt) made it worth the experience. Please know I am not complaining but offering my own experience and review! I would definitely go for a special occasion and try the scallops next time! Yachtsman Steakhouse is a Disney Signature Dining, sit down table service restaurant, located at Disney’s Yacht Club resort. It has a New England feel with sophisticated, nautical touches. Reservations are highly recommended and there is a dress code that I would describe as business casual/upscale casual. This restaurant is especially known for their steak and fresh seafood. With a seafood allergy, we stuck with the steak and it did not disappoint! We got the 8oz filet mignon and 16oz ribeye. Both cuts were cooked exactly as requested. The sides were also delicious and both the mac and cheese and creamed spinach were perfect accompaniments for the steak. The drinks were strong and very good and the Brûlée cheesecake dessert sounded like a lot of interesting flavors but it all worked together so well and it was absolutely divine! The meal is definitely on the pricier side, but considering this is a steakhouse at Disney, in my opinion, the price is reasonable. It was also a lot of food and we had leftovers of everything, perfect for midnight snacking.😉 Overall, I would definitely eat there again. California Grill in the Contemporary Resort boasts some incredible views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and The Magic Kingdom Park. The restaurant offers a 3 course Menu where you pay one price per adult or child with extra fees for wine pairings and a Wagyu Strip Loin. Our picks from the first course were the Sonoma Goat Cheese Raviolo, the Sahaimi Nigiri Sampler and the California Stone Fruit Salad. The Raviolo and Sushi were delish but the salad was lacking in dressing and wasn’t a favorite. Entrées were the Oak-Fired Filet of Beef and the Pan-seared All Natural Chicken. The steak was tender but not as full of flavor as one would expect from. $ignature dining experience. And the chicken “was not Instagram worth.” The wines paired well, but our server was pretty much a pour and run guy rather than sharing the usual pairing descriptions. Desserts were not impressive. The Lemon Chiffon Cake and Peanut and Banana Torte were less than what we had hoped for. Overall vote from the table was the experience (including very close tables, no real view from our table and a lack-luster server) is not one we will repeat. ‘Twas sad. We had high hopes. 🐘 J I K O is and has been my FAVORITE restaurant on Disney property!!! I have been here many many times and each time I love it more and more! 🦒 the restaurant atmosphere mimics the African sunset with it’s beautiful colors of Red, Orange and Yellow with gorgeous, hanging bird sculptures throughout. This is a signature dining experience with reservation required along with proper attire. This inventive menu of African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine includes one of my favorite dishes, the Wild Boar with Mealie Pap, Chakalaka, Truffle Oil, and Micro Cilantro!! It’s unreal!!!! Then we can’t forget about the bread service of giraffe bread and African flatbread Served with a goat cheese butter mixture topped with black sea salt!!! It also features the most extensive selection of South African wines 🍷in North America featuring my favorite Pinotage “Painted Wolf” I have always sat at the “cooking place/chef‘s table”, a private table where you can interact with the chefs, making the appetizers ❤️ 20/10 for me! Narcossee’s is OPEN! This is one of the fine dining restaurants at Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. You can find it on the lake next to the boat dock. We love dining at the restaurants on many of the resorts. It is where we have found the best and most unique foodie options for dining. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the flavor combination was amazing. I 3️⃣Ocean-inspired Charcuterie Board* Ahi Tuna Pastrami, Charred Octopus, Lobster Sausage Who doesn’t love a good charcuterie. But I have never seen this kinda of twist put on it. It was AMAZING! This is a MUST order. I would go back for the last 2 appetizers. Entree: 4️⃣Yuzu-Ginger Salmon* Sambal White Asparagus, Coconut Jade Rice, Lemon Grass-Thai Basil Emulsion The flavors here were very good and a great balance with the salmon. The coconut jade rice was delicious! Sides: 5️⃣Sweet-and-Sour Brussels Sprouts Applewood-smoked Bacon, Sorghum-Malt Gastrique These were cooked very well. We did drinks at Enchanted Rose, the Beauty & the Beast inspired lounge that replaced Mizner’s Lounge at Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and dinner at Citricos, which reopened about a year and a half ago with a refreshed Mary Poppins inspired dining room. Grand Floridian’s extra fancy vibe is not really my scene, but the restaurant experience is worth trying to blend in with the fancy folk for an evening. (And you’ve got to stop by near Christmas to see the tree and the Gingerbread and near Easter to see the chocolate eggs.) At the lounge, I was anxious to try the Lavender Fog cocktail, a tea based drink with gin topped with a vanilla and cream foam. I love a good tea and gin is one of my preferred liquors, so I was very excited to try this drink. It could possibly be the best drink I’ve ever had. After drinks and collecting our dining party, we ambled over to Citricos for our reservation. I had first dined here a year ago and it knocked my socks off. I don’t remember what my drink was. It was ok, but I was still dreaming about the Lavender Fog. One of the hardest things is choosing an appetizer because they are all so delicious. I went with the sweet corn bisque, which I absolutely adore. The consistency is perfect; the corn flavor is outstanding. For entree, I chose the tilefish. I love tilefish and I’d had it here last year and it was outstanding. It was a little bit more average this time. It sat a little big heavy and saggy on the plate and it was a little bit bland. Still good, just not quite as knock your socks off as the first time I had it. The guava bbq short ribs were the winner at the table. I don’t always do restaurant dessert, but here, it’s hard not to. The apple rose is phenomenal. It’s literally an apple tart with the And of course what makes any dinner is having company that is truly top drawer.

What's one question I'm always asked about dining at Disney World?! Anyone? . Don't know? Here it is: "Which places are inappropriate to take my baby/toddler/children to? I want to avoid anywhere that's too nice for them to cry/have a meltdown." . Guys, guess what? This is Disney World...a family destination with a TON of children! There is nowhere on property (with the exception of the adult-only dining at Victora & Albert's at the Grand Floridian) that you can't take your kids and the Cast Members (yes, everyone!) are used to dealing with tantrums/meltdowns/crying. . Many of these perceived "fancy" restaurants are what Disney calls signature dining. Almost all are exquisite. So here's my advice: if you want an excellent meal, book the excellent meal---regardless of your party makeup. My children have been going to these restaurants since they were four-months-old. They aren't always perfect...but we make it work...and it's always worth it! . Side note: Our meal at Citricos tonight blew my mind! And the chocolate torte. OMG. One of our new favorite things to do while vacationing at Disney is to take a resort day or leave the park a little early to have a more upscale dining experience. Table service restaurants are great, but nothing beats a Signature Dining Experience! ⭐️ Food Review ⭐️ 🇨🇦 Le Cellier Steakhouse is located in Canada within the World Showcase at Epcot. It is a beautiful cellar tucked away in EPCOT's Canada pavilion. Le Cellier is one of Disney's Signature Dining locations, which means it can be pricey but 100% worth the price. 🥨This is one of my FAVORITE restaurants on Disney property. I know that’s a big statement but it’s true. I love the pretzel bread (hallelujah!) and signature poutine. 🥩 I may split apps but I won’t split the filet or else we would fight (I’m serious lol). BEST. STEAK. EVER. 🧁 Also, every dessert they have is incredible. 🍴If you love steak, this is a MUST DO! Even if you don’t love steak, you’ll probably love this one because it’s just that good! last night was our first ever visit to jiko - the cooking place. yes, we strayed from our typical california grill - topolinos - cítricos rotation, and trekked on over to animal kingdom lodge to try this legendary signature restaurant. the first bite of the meal, grilled wild boar tenderloin, completely knocked our socks off! a top 5 disney food bite, for sure! the rest of the dining experience impressed as well, but we’ll be dreaming about that boar for a long time to come. it’s also worth mentioning that jiko’s wine list is pretty stellar as well. with one sip of our kanonkop pinotage, we were instantly transported right back to our travels through south africa. 🦁🍷 swipe to see what we ordered. the wine: 2016 kanonkop pinotage, stellenbosch the apps: seared diver scallops with nhopi and groundnuts. fennel-apple slaw and cider reduction. grilled wild boar tenderloin. creamy pap, chakalaka tomatoes, herb-smoked oil, micro cilantro. the mains: oak-grilled filet mignon. rainbow cauliflower and chocolate-red wine demi-glace. Last night, I dined at Citricos underneath the lovely London sky. In this newly re-imagined restaurant, the decor is inspired by the movie “Mary Poppins Returns”. The menu—crafted by Chef Andres Mendoza—features Florida cuisine with a Mediterranean influence. Begin your meal with a strawberry salad or sweet corn bisque. Then, delight in mouthwatering specialties like guava-barbecued short ribs or butter-poached Florida cobia. For a sweet ending, indulge in such decadent desserts as the orange blossom flan or the warm apple rose. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to Tiffins, a signature dining experience located near the main bridge to Pandora. Themed to celebrate adventure and exploration, it features Asian, African, and South American Cuisine. Below of 3 of my favourite Tiffins facts. . The name of the restaurant refers to both a light mid-day meal served in India, as well as the tiered containers the meal is served in. These containers can be seen atop the Tiffins sign and on display near the hostess desk. . There are three dining “galleries” within the restaurant: the Asian themed Trek Gallery, the African themed Safari Gallery, and the Grand Gallery which showcases animals found within the park. The art displayed in these galleries is based off of images and sketches from Imagineers in field, while doing research for the park’s development. . At the end of your meal, you will receive a souvenir print of an original Joe Rohde sketch. There are multiple sketches available, so you can collect different prints each time you visit. . I highly recommend trying Tiffins if you haven’t already done so. If you don’t have a reservation, try sitting in the walk-up friendly Nomad Lounge, which features many of the same menu items. The bread service is my favourite on resort property (it’s so good I finished eating it before realizing I needed a picture, oops!).
