Happy Monday, everyone!! This morning, I'm thinking about the times you find yourself stuck in a bad mood or in a bit of a funk. It happens to all of us from time to time. How do you change a bad mood when it happens?? It seems to me that indulging a bad mood is such a waste of precious time. I hate it when it happens to me. A little more about me… when I was a kid I wanted to be an actor. They said I couldn’t. So I became a medical professional, an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, because I love helping people. But deep down I wanted to be a storyteller, to perform. I made my life and I love it. I married, I divorced, I travelled the world, had two beautiful boys. I always felt held back by those I was in a relationship with (until now that is). So I made my own way. Unexpected open heart surgery in 2014 showed me life is short and I needed to jump on making my dreams come true. So I did. In 2015 I started modeling and acting. I trained hard in Theatre and TV/Film fearlessly for years. I did a lot of background acting work starting out. That grew to a lot of supporting roles in films. I then landed the lead in the stage play Queen that toured. I have had starring roles in short films and then in feature films, most recently the thriller A Killer Rising that’s on streaming services all over the world. When the pandemic hit I went back into nursing to help. During this time I also became a kickboxing coach. I have weapons and utility stunts training and I am currently training towards my black belt in Mixed Martial Arts (Muay Thai, Escrima and Jiu Jitsu). I still train constantly in acting and have my amazing talent team by my side helping me land some really big auditions and callbacks. My time will come. 💫 Along my journey I realized I also wanted to not only perform non-conventional female roles but to tell impactful stories my way. So, I started my own production company Odelia Beck Productions (named after my late beloved paternal grandmother) and I am now doing just that. I am a lead in and produced the short film Sum of Your Luv that has won best comedy awards and even gained me three best actress awards in the worldwide film festival circuit, soon to be released. I also have a lead role in the upcoming action comedy feature film Operation: Out of Office that I’m also co-producing coming up next year. And… I’m finally writing my book I’ve always wanted to write, that will sure be another feature film in the future. Thank you to all for your love and support. 💗

I am learning a hard but valuable lesson. People will ONLY change for the better IF and WHEN they choose to do so. People are going to be who they decide to be. Even with romantic relationships, you cannot make someone love you, no matter how hard you try. Save yourself the pain of regret and wasted time, accept it for what it is. Since we all have free will, God can’t change a person without their permission and participation, so we don’t stand a chance trying to change anyone. In fact, we’ve taken on an assignment God never gave us. We can inspire people by the way we live but changing them is out of our league. God won't override anyone’s will and we shouldn’t try to either. The only thing we can do is manage our expectations of people to avoid being disappointed. Let’s not put our life on hold waiting for something that may never happen. Instead of focusing all of our energy on getting someone to change, let’s focus on changing the one thing we can…ourselves, with God’s help of course. And leave what we cannot change up to God. And be willing to adjust our lives accordingly. If it happens, great, but if not, I know that God is faithful and NEVER changes so my expectation is in Him and Him alone! Happy Friday everyone!! How do you change a bad mood when it happens?? It seems to me that indulging a bad mood is such a waste of precious time. I hate when it happens to me. I know everyone has them occasionally, but when they come and stick around for a little bit, then it becomes a problem. I have been kind of stuck in a funk this week. I hate that feeling most of all. I breaks my heart that many of us who knew her, didn’t get the chance to say goodbye. She was intensely private, very loyal and a steady force of support for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. KK will be so missed by many! 💜 Life is so incredibly short, so don’t waste it doing the things that don’t bring joy and love into your heart. Can you please love yourself? If you have children tell them everyday how WORTHY they are of love. There are too many of us that grow up with these kind of scars on our bodies. For so many reasons. It's addicting when you find something that takes the pain away. Hopefully its G O O D things filling up that space and not self-tormenting hatred. I've worked really hard to love myself when i feel like no one does. I'm lucky to have a loyal boyfriend who hasnt seen me as something to fix but a human being who's hurting.
