Relatable?? 🫣 To me it is! Over the course of my adult life I have had a tendency of continuously changing things up in my life. As well as devotion to tengu, a mythical figure that in the Shinto belief is believed to be a messenger to the gods. ⛰️ Tengu are easily identifiable by their elongated noses and wings. They're considered "demon likes beings" that dwell on the mountain, acting a messengers, protectors of the good, and chastising evildoers. MILEAGE UPDATE: END OF WEEK 3 RUNNING #rometohome … IT’S EPIC! Can we just pause for a moment? I had to get my calculator out twice to check… 🙇♀️ BUT ..Alby has now run 👉889.91 miles in 3 weeks👈(say what⁉️) on his epic ultramarathon from Rome back to Paignton pier on behalf of local charity Phab Torbay. This is the stuff of legend and adventure! Alby’s had a bit of a tough day today on his 1,204-mile ultramarathon from #rometohome It’s May Bank Holiday in France (Workers’ Day), which has meant most shops have been closed and it’s been raining … although he did find a taco restaurant in Orléans for lunch, which was definitely a bonus. After just over 40 miles today, Alby has finally stopped in a bus shelter to dry out, as another 7 miles to Artenay felt too much of a stretch and is currently camped there for the evening. Meet Rhea. I came across her yesterday evening while driving through my neighborhood. She was lying in the gutter looking dismal, given up on life. I saw immediately she was extremely emaciated, had green discharge coming from her eyes and mouth. I threw my vehicle in park, grabbed my bite gloves, a carrier and headed her direction. She mustered up the strength to stand and gave me a weak, raspy meow. , I was easily able to coax her into the carrier. She's not feral. She's an extremely friendly, sweet older gal. I took her home and upon further examination saw she was extremely emaciated, dehydrated, covered in Fleas, dirt, nasal and eye discharge, could barely stand. I immediately contacted Kyle Kirkland of Kirkland Foundation and we had a chat about Rhea, the decision was made to take her to the Vet this morning. I started immediate nutrition and fluids for her. She is getting the works this morning, labs, fluids, flea bath, amd what ever else necessary to get the full scope of her condition. Kirkland Foundation never hesitates to jump into action when these precious, voiceless angels need help. Donations go to directly to the care of these cats and tax deductible. Does the Lord ever ask you to do hard things? To get out of your comfort zone? *If we always live where it is comfortable or "safe"...we can't get to a place where we are completely depending upon the Lord.* Would YOU jump off a cliff into a river whose name means "cold"? Would YOU hike to the top of a mountain (or very steep hill😁) Would YOU speak in front of a large group of people, sharing your heart? Would YOU ride in the back of a pick-up truck, through a bumpy river, holding on for dear life? Would YOU go 4 days without ANY cell service or Internet, completely unplugging? Would you open up, let down your guard, being completely authentic and vulnerable with other women in your community? The Lord encourages us to take that step of faith. To do hard things. To push ourselves. To position ourselves in a complete posture of faith and trust. When I can trust the Lord to jump off the cliff at Blue Hole, I build trust to follow Him through the challenges of life. When I persevere up the challenge of the hike, I can build stamina to persevere through life's difficulties. When I am vulnerable and share (rather in front of a crowd or with one other person), I build relationships and encourage others in their faith by sharing how God has worked in mine. Jungle log…day one. The dog tired but happy face of someone that’s travelled just over 8,000 miles as the crow flies to be half way around the world. It’s currently 6am (sunrise was about ten mins ago) and I’m ready to get started on this adventure. Was here a few years ago living in the rainforest doing primate rehabilitation work and conservation education with the wonderful staff at @east_daotien. Feels so good to be back in this beautiful country. Excited to go get immersed in jungle life again and to work with the local community. Still waiting for my brain to catch up with my body clock (or maybe it’s the other way around? Either way I’m buggered with this time difference). And talking of time…it waits for nobody. So get out there kiddos, take the trip you’ve been putting off, give your time to help others where you can and do things on the daily that scare the sh*t outta you. Remember fear is what keeps us growing. You can change your undies if 💩 does happen (so pack a spare pair) but you will never get back lost time. So get out there and get after it!!!
