PR Alert 🚨 🔔!!! Man what a day. Started off with some good rest last night. Did not expect that. Sure was happy, most nights before races I barely get a wink of sleep. I was up and ready to go. Weather, well it’s was divine. 48 degrees, Ne wind and it helped me on the way back around mile 17 give or take. I fueled well too. Even fueled really good to for this race and this training cycle. Big shout out to @extend.running I was so happy to tell her we got the Pr I Trained so hard for. Chip time was 3:41:37. Garmin goggins said 3:40. Nike said 3:39. Either way I put my heart and all into this race. The hills really made me work too but I eased back in to it after getting through them. I am so thankful and gracious for everyone that has helped me along the way with advice, support and hoorahs. You guys/gals were the glue that made me stick to it and keep focus. I must of rang that 🔔 so many times. It feels sooo good to finally crush a Pr that has been waiting 12 years for me to beat. I am looking forward to a fall race. As of right now I am going to enjoy recovery and let my body tell me when it wants to go again. To everyone else that raced today hope it was good or if it was bad hope you can learn from it. The marathon today didn’t owe me anything and I proved that I deserve to cross that finish. Typically I dread hiking Tecumseh, but for some reason Saturday I felt really excited. The weather was turning in our favor, I had a restful morning, I was ready to warm my legs up for a big day Sunday, and looking forward to a peaceful night camping. . I didn’t go into this hike thinking I would PR or push very hard, but I did and it was really surprising and rewarding to know we got it done in just under 2 hours! It’s not fast to a lot of people but that’s fast for me, and definitely something I’m proud of. Looking forward to the next time I do Tecumseh to see if I can knock a few minutes off 😈 . Man that wind was brutal, 8mile speed sesh= 1.5 w 4x1mi @ 7:45per mi w 3min jog 1mile cd. I was looking at the forecast and see more of the dumb BS 🌬️. I said F it if I am gonna hurt I might as well do it before my taper. Two miles with two miles in it. About 30 secs slower running in to it. Last week I fired my job… It was a good ride while it lasted @zumiez. The last 7 years really flew by I have met a lot of incredible people. I can’t really count how many rewards I’ve gotten, but the 4 stores I’ve run along with the ppl I empowered to run with me has given me the confidence to jump off the porch and run my own business. I’ve made this company millions and it’s time to figure out how to do it for myself. I have to say huge thank you to the company and the ppl I’ve worked with for allowing me to grow as a leader and be myself. I think I did what I was supposed to do and left it better than I found it. There’s truly something to be said about someone who can get a crew of people to go break trail on one of the apparently most disliked trails in the Whites 😂 . Checked off two more peaks on the Tripyramids for #556 and #557 towards @mrchasehall grid! The final stretch is here! Hey hey what’s happening, an easy long run for me. Wind was breezy today, running east felt like running into a wind wall. Overall it was pretty good. Legs are a little tired from battling the gusts though and I can hear it out side haha. Kept a steady an easy pace and devoured my new delicious Gu s I got. 3 weeks is it until the full. I am very much looking forward to this. I have put in so much work every workout. Even with being disciplined in different areas of my life too. It’s all going to pay off, even if the suck that’s sucks now is being sucky you’ll look back and thank the sucky for making it suck to succeed. Enough with the suck talk.
