The first thing that catches the eye is the aesthetics that delights everyone who likes witchy/occult atmosphere, art and symbolics. Pentacles, moon phases, symbols and other magical illustrations are eye pleasing addition to the entire graphic design. We'll find here a lot of useful details such as moon phases or important dates, but also many basic informations like: planetary correspondences, the elements, directions of the world, the wheel of the year and many interesting facts for beginners. This edition of the calendar was created to honor famous witches, occultists and other practicioners who devoted their lives to the craft, thanks to which we will find many interesting facts about them on each page. When it comes to the calendar itself and its functionality, unfortunately there is not much space for personal notes, which I regret deeply as I need it on daily basis. One page contains a schedule of all 7 days of the week, and some of them also include the little facts section, which leaves very little space for notes. We visited Kearsney Abbey and our facilitator was really knowledgeable about trees. Andrea mentioned pointed out a larch and it's green and brown and I didn't know that they are the only coniferous, deciduous trees that shed their needles in autumn. Saw some beautiful yews and holly too. Talking too about maybe organising a wassail.

I've also had relationships where I think that I've met people in previous lives and some of our most significant relationships are ones that are repeated. I think that I first came across the concept in Katherine Kerr's Deverry Cycle books were people reincarnated to try to fix mistakes from various previous incarnations. I was very disappointed, because I had to cancel a number of really fun things that I had planned, including some Salt + Earth events And my annual camp at the Mercian Gathering. I had planned on speaking this year about Community Organising, and I was really full off FOMO. While I didn't get to go to camp I was able to get ahead on reading this month chapter from Reclaim Your Dark Goddess. I'm really excited because this month we are reading about and discussing The Morrigan. While I'm not sure that I agree with all of Flavia’s gnosis on The Morrigan I did find that this quote resonated with me. I like to think that I have made some progress, reigning in some of my people pleasing tendencies. I can still struggle when people react poorly to my placing boundaries. So I think for the powers that be will keep sending me opportunities where I have to reinforce my boundary setting. And I think that I may just have to get used to people rejecting me when that happens.

I like what they wrote about personal responsibility. I think that is easy to get looped into a cycle of either shame and blame and both lead to recrimination, either of self or others. Today I was disappointed to have not to have been selected for a training opportunity. I wasted some energy blaming others and instead I've decided to email for feedback and to look at alternative ways of doing the training. Much more empowering! Today I'm struggling, stressed, tired and feeling a bit nauseous and overwhelmed. I think it's possibly returning to my full hours. Hopefully it is just a case of getting used to the hours.

Lots of discussion about lost, letting go and ideas about regaining things lost. This quote from Flavia I think is interesting we here a lot in Cerridwen 's tale about Cerridwen and how the servant boy Gwion accidentally drinks the potion (which would lead to his transformation into the bard Taliesin) which was meant for Cerridwen's son Morfan. But, reading today I realise how little you hear of Morfan other than his grotesque physical appearance and how his missed out on becoming wise and prophetic. I'm not as familiar with Welsh lore but I don't really recall hearing Morfan's voice or point of view. Just Cerridwen as a dark mother. a smothering mother, overly determined to protect her son.

I know when reading around prior to my hysterectomy there was some schools of thought that likened the surgery to female castration and I did worry me at the time, but although there has been a whole range of emotions, the overriding one has been relief. The pain and recovery weren't as bad as I had feared, not easy, but I think because of my FND I was anticipating it to be unbearable, but it wasn't. I was mentally well prepared due to the lovely rites my girlfriends gave me in terms of my Uterus Graduation Ceremony. I don't feel diminished, I feel liminal, I feel like I am navigating a new personal sovereignty.

Still feeling quite tired so re-read and finished up my journaling for book group tomorrow.
