Does your RV ever feel “off balance” even when it reads “level”? After over 5 years of FT travel, whether it be a mom and pop campground, RV resort, gravel or concrete pad, the term “level site” can feel like it’s a subjective word. 😂 Two things we carry with us are a leveling tool and a thin wood board. The leveling tool is pretty obvious, but why a thin wood board? We have found it’s pretty common for us to get the RV completely level, yet one side of our stair legs ends up being off the ground by the slightest margin. After a couple of months of dealing with this, we discovered this random thin wood board worked perfectly to even it out! We would love to say our stairs are the only thing we’ve dealt with when it comes to sites and being level. The truth is we’ve experienced sites with an uphill sewer connection (20 ft behind the RV), we’ve used leveling blocks in order for our stairs to reach the ground and we’ve even had concrete pads (that you would think are level) cause an “out of stroke” error with the RV leveling system. When it comes to these issues we’ve learned to work through it and adapt. Whether it be working as a team in order to empty our tanks flowing uphill, request to move sites after a third attempt at getting level, or even having to completely reset our RV leveling system to get things back on track. The perception can be that you pull up in our RV, press a couple of buttons to unhitch, get level, open slides, and you’re ready to relax! But the reality is that's just not the case each and every time, so we adjust and work together to find solutions even if it’s as simple as using a random thin wood board. We’ve spent the last 5 months stationary at Casa Grande RV Resort, enjoying the warm winter weather. We made some great friends and had a lot of fun. One of our favorite things when traveling is being able to meet others in person, getting to hear about their travels, and making that face-to-face connection, even if it is just a 15-20 min conversation. Earlier this year, we attended the Quartzsite RV show, wearing our Lippert Scout shirts, and from across the aisle, we heard someone shout out “Scouts!”🤗 And we’re so glad we heard it because we got to spend some time meeting fellow Scout Lynda. Fast forward two months, where we decided to check out the FMCA convention back in Tucson, and as luck would have it, we ran into Lynda and her husband again! That time around we were able to sit and chat for a lot longer but what turned out to be the best part was that we were also with our friends Patty and Shane (also Lippert Scouts) and we all got a chance to share travels stories, tips for Alaska adventures and then realized that they were basically neighbors right there at the fairgrounds! We often share about the impact the Scout community had with keeping us on our journey as full-time RVers, and that our main goal for sharing our travels on social media has always been to find and build community on the road. Ferry Number 1. And we are off........We got a pet cabin which for us is better than seats on board, all three of us slept most of the morning. Koda was a tad restless at times but at least he managed to wee on deck which didn't happen going from Italy to Greece. We are provided a hose to wash the deck down afterwards. The crossing was so smooth that neither Mike nor I knew we had left port until after we woke up 2-3 hrs later, it was flat for the entire 7 hrs which was a blessing. We were had an easy time at Harwich, we weren't pulled over for a random search and when we arrived at Hoek van Holland we went straight customs and passport control within minutes. Motorhomes were the first vehicles off the ferry which was great. We would absolutely do this ferry crossing again. #ferry #stenaline #northsea

First leg driving our new to us rig. So much to learn and some things we forgot. You may notice as John pulls out from the campsite a loud grinding noise. That can't be good! The gate guard even heard the noise. Come to find we had a switch in the wrong setting so airbags were not yet inflated for driving. Another memorable stop on our adventure! Departing from coastal Virginia with @finduscamping and another rv as our travel companions, we made our way to the mountains. 🏔 Last night’s @harvesthosts stay at Showalter’s Orchard in Timberville, VA, was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, the sprawling apple orchards provided a stunning backdrop for our evening. 🍏 Parking was a breeze, even for our spacious rigs, thanks to the ample space and level, sturdy ground. We spent the afternoon indulging in delicious ciders and engaging conversations with friends, soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. Meanwhile, our @newpowausa solar panels ensured that our Fuzion remained fully powered throughout the day, while keeping our batteries topped for the night ahead. Hello friends! Happy Sunday! Recently, we were able to hike the Twin Falls trail in Tennessee! Swipe to see all the pics! Twin Falls is a cascade waterfall that spills down from a cavern. This waterfall was created by the Great Falls Dam, which caused the Collins River to rise. So essentially, Twin Falls is man made! It's a very popular destination for both locals and tourists for hiking and kayaking! It was still chilly out when we were there, but that didn't stop the kayakers! Blue Ridge Parkway scenic drive. 🛻🩵🌲 We headed north from Linville Falls up to the Blowing Rock area and stopped to see the Moses Cone Estate on the way. The grounds contain 25 miles of carriage trails and views of Bass Lake. The estate was home to the Cone family who were prosperous textile entrepreneurs that produced denim for companies including Levi Strauss (📸1&5). We also drove across the Linn Cove Viaduct (📸2&4) which is an engineering marvel built to protect the fragile habitat of Grandfather Mountain. This famous bridge is 1,234ft long and S-shaped to preserve the natural environment of the mountain. It was completed in 1982 and opened to traffic in 1987 completing the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a lovely scenic drive through the area. We stopped for a picnic of gluten free crispbreads with cashew cream cheese and cucumber, walked around the estate a little, and then came home. A leisurely Saturday drive.

👩🏼💻We knew with working remotely we had to make sure we had very strong (and reliable) internet 🛜 Starting out we used the T-Mobile internet box that we could use anywhere we could plug it in basically! 💰 The cost is $50 a month & I love it because I can even take it into the truck on long travel days! It works GOOD but still wasn’t the consistency we needed so we added in a second stream of internet connection with Starlink! Lady's having a bit of a rough go this morning. Dan carried her in when we got home yesterday and put her right next to my desk because we knew she'd want to be next to me. She hasn't gotten up since. We tried to take her out last night but she wasn't having it. We tried again this morning and she tried to get up, but couldn't get her back legs up. We can't use her help me up harness right now because that's exactly where her mass was removed. So, I tried to give her meds - with peanut butter and a treat - her favorite - but, nope. Wouldn't take it. So, now we're trying to make sure she's remaining hydrated, by bringing her water to her -- which, she is REALLY liking. I will keep working on giving her the treat because the arthritis and pain meds will really do her good. And then, if we can get those in, maybe we can get her outside. After leaving Bahia de Los Angeles we spent a couple of nights in the sand dunes north of Guerrero Negro while we resupplied the teardrop with essentials. Then we spent 6 days camping in the campground at Laguna Ojo de Liebre. This was our only paid for campsite for the entire trip. 200 pesos for 6 days seemed quite a fair price for the campsite. So quiet, so beautiful, so many birds!
