Today's bouquet was huge! I could just about hold it in one hand, while I gradually added more & more stems. I shared a photo on stories yesterday of the flowers in buckets, just after I'd picked them from my garden. I love mixing these late spring colours together: purple, pink, orange, green & white; all mingling together just like a mini garden. The finished bouquet even passed the spiral test of standing upright by itself on the table! 😅 (pic 2) I used a washed glass jar in the recyclable cardboard box container to transport the blooms to their recipient earlier today. My customer had asked for a statement bouquet to be delivered as they couldn't attend the wedding of the recipient today. When I bought those *expensive* ranunculus corms last year I looked everywhere for information about if they would come back each year but honestly couldn’t find much. So after they’d flowered I planted them out in the border and forgot about them. Well let me tell you they have come back this year and have been great, with no input from me at all. Yes, the stems are slightly shorter. Yes, the flowers are a bit smaller. Yes, the plant seems less vigorous. 🪻Wisteria Appreciation Post 🪻 We planted this as a very small plant about 4yrs ago now. The scent is divine each time we walk past it. 🪻It gets bigger and better every year 🪻We've never properly pruned it. We had new windows fitted so it got battered by ladders and scaffolding last year. 3 yrs ago we had a new roof and it was hidden by scaffolding and ladders again. But it doesn't seem to have spoiled it. 🪻 I'm hoping in the not too distant future we will have the inconvenience of finding a way to prop it up over the door! That would be a great problem to have I will be spamming this account with wisteria photos as it changes through the seasons

Heyyyyyy flowery friends 💜 from a very soggy Petals in the Paddock. This picture pretty much sums everything up, something about a graceful Swan above water - paddling like mad underneath (although I’m not 100% sure I’ve ever quite been a graceful swan 🤣) My goodness it’s been the wettest we’ve ever known out in the paddock and I’m not alone in saying I’m fed up with it now - the chickens agree too. We’re struggling to get any ground work done and the seedlings that need to be planted out are reluctantly having to stay indoors until we can get out there to plant them. It’s a tough time right now BUT amazingly the Tulips are coming up strong and looking INCREDIBLE 🌷🌷🌷 I know I’ve been super silent and probably annoyed quite a lot of you but without going into loads of detail - I found it all rather tough, keeping up with requests, messages, admin, Instagram and flowers…it’s been something I’ve just shut away from (it’s been easier for me that way) instead I’ve been focusing on family, home and life. I truly am sorry to anyone and everyone that I’ve let down it was never my intention. I had all sorts of plans for Mother’s Day but instead I was completely out of action with back to back horrendous viruses that seem to be going round. If I am honest being so floored by them proved to be one of those moments in life where you know things have to change. I need to slow down. My Mother’s Day plans for others can wait until next year. This year I am going to prioritise both being a mother and being with my own. I’m not going anywhere, I’m just going more slowly. Dahlia Seedlings I've been (very impatiently) waiting for the dahlia seedlings I planted to finally flower and reveal themselves... It's dahlia "lucky dip" because each individual daliah seed will create a completely unique flower, so until it blooms you never know what you will get!
