Friends and family kept 🤗 hugging me including the mother of my former students. The murder of our children is always painful 😖. The impact makes some people afraid to leave home. The courage to wake up each morning is just tough. You sleep 😴 different. You sound different. You realize you are a different person. #Survivors #Warriors The trauma is astounding. For some of our family and friends, they never move on. For others, their grief journey is invisible behind their smile. I have never worn a shirt 👚 with dead people on it. Not even the shirts that were made for my son 👶. It was my choice. #ChurchGirl In truth, we have all been touched by a lost. Suicide, Murder, Cancer, Drowning, etc. The lost is painful and no one should tell you how to grieve. They should offer a meal 🥘. They should pay a light bill or mortgage 🏠. They should help you get your hair fixed or your nails 💅 done. #KindnessHeals Any kind gesture is a reminder that it was not our fault. Stop telling people they shouldn’t have to bury their kids. Just have to take a moment to recognize my current PT student @kaitlyn_johnson1 Kaitlyn is finishing up her Doctoral program at @universityofjamestown in Fargo, ND, after growing up dancing and teaching at Red River Dance & Performing Company @redriverdance Our clinic is a unique place, with a fast-paced environment and wide variety of patients. It is definitely a challenge to find your footing here, but Kaitlyn has demonstrated a level of persistence that I haven’t witnessed before! She began feeling overwhelmed, underprepared, and worried that she wouldn’t be able to catch up, but she has grown into a confident & proficient therapist, and has truly become part of our little family! Kaitlyn’s best attribute is her ability to connect with patients. As a student, this can be extremely difficult, particularly when working with such a high population of dancers that generally prefer to see a seasoned therapist. Kaitlyn’s previous experience teaching and dancing have definitely been an asset to her, but it is her kind, caring heart that has really helped her to connect with both dancers in general population patients alike. This is a gift that you cannot teach. I look forward to watching her growth, and hopefully continuing to be a part of it!!!
