„Hundra- Die Geschichte einer Kriegerin“ Blu-ray + DVD, Limited Mediabook Edition Cover C Zuwachs in der Barbaren-Ecke! Endlich ist auch bei uns „Hundra“ auf Blu-ray erschienen. Auswählen kann man aus vier verschiedenen Covermotiven. Limitiert sind Cover A und B jeweils auf 222 Stück, Cover C und D auf jeweils 111 Stück. Bei mir ist es Covermotiv C geworden, welches das japanischen Plakatmotiv zu dem Film zeigt. Der Film ist ein überdurchschnittlich gelungenes Barbaren-Fantasy-Abenteuer, was auch nicht schwer ist, da in dem Genre sehr viele fragwürdige Trash-Streifen produziert wurden. Hervorzuheben ist die tolle Filmmusik, einmal mehr von Ennio Morricone komponiert. It features 6 All-Pro NFL stars as a bunch of easy riding Vietnam War vets. When the gang leader's little bro is beaten to death for dating a white girl by a white supremacists bikers, the Six trade peace for vengeance. Though nobody in the cast is Jim Brown, they do a pretty good job and despite some slower sequences, the climatic battle reminds me of a low-budget version of Game of Thrones' "The Long Night". ♡ 𝓙𝓪𝔂𝓷𝓮 & 𝓜𝓪𝓽𝓽 ♡ •Jayne Mansfield and her third husband, Matt Cimber, are photographed on their wedding day at a hotel in Mexico, 1964. 💙 First photo is from a later date. By 1963, Mansfield’s career had started to slow down and after she disclosed an affair to her then husband, Mickey Hargitay, she fled to Mexico where she planned to initiate divorce proceedings before marrying her new lover, Nelson Sardelli. This plan fell through after she discovered that she was not only pregnant but that Sardelli was also married. She briefly rekindled her relationship with Hargitay however after their daughter, Mariska, was born in 1964, Mansfield reinitiated the divorce proceedings with them being finalized in August of that year. Less than one month later on September 24, 1964, Mansfield wed Italian director Matt Cimber at an intimate ceremony inside of a Mexican hotel. She had met Cimber a few months earlier while working on the play, “Bus Stop,” and shortly after tying the knot, the couple moved into Mansfield’s Hollywood home where they went on to welcome a son, Tony, the following year. By 1965, Mansfield had begun drinking heavily which often led to disputes with her husband however in spite of these struggles, the couple were able to make a film together, “Single Room Furnished,” which was nearly scrapped before its release due to Mansfield’s drinking. After filming ended in 1966, Cimber went on to file for divorce, alleging Mansfield had been unfaithful to him and often complained their relationship was nothing like the ones she had had in the past. Following their marriage, Cimber went on to wed Christy Hanak in 1967 while Jayne moved on to attorney, Sam Brody. Mansfield and Brody went on to work together with Sam briefly acting as Jayne’s manager however, their romance was sadly cut short when on June 29, 1967, both Mansfield and Brody lost their lives in a tragic car accident while on a nightclub tour in Louisiana. Mansfield’s funeral was held a few days later with her body being interred inside Fairview Cemetery beneath a heart shaped gravestone.

Recently I found newspaper reviews about news about that two films were shown in Hungary in mid-1980s. The first film title was remained, but second was translated as Sárga Haj És Az Arany Eröd. In these articles indicated that both films were exclusively American, although the film was American-Spanish co-productions, but in some countries it was indicated as Italian-Spanish. I keeping explore rare things that are connected not only with newspaper advertisements, lobby cards and posters of Yeşilçam films which released in European and Asian countries, but and actors who played outside Yeşilçam. Iranian actor Jahangir Ghaffari who played in Yeşilçam, especially in avantur films as protagonist and in some joint production films starring Cüneyt Arkın or Filiz Akın, after beginning 1972 he filmed in European and American films. I know that he was producer and had some films produced by him. Hundra 1983 and Yellow Hair & Fortress of Gold 1984 were directed by Matt Cimber. Both films were filmed in Almeria, Andalusia and with same cast. In internet i found two posters for foreign release of both films: English-language poster of Hundra 1983 for Indian release with certificate and Turkish poster for Yellow Hair & Fortress of Gold 1984 for release in Turkey which titled as Komançero, however Jahangir Ghaffari's name are remained in this poster. Both films were released in my country in early 1990s, namely 7-8 years after original release. new arrival: 1983’s HUNDRA. This was my introduction to director Matt Cimber and star Laurene Landon. It’s a b-movie, female version of CONAN THE BARBARIAN that has too much nudity and female-slavery to be empowering, but shows moments of brilliance. Just a few, mind you - there’s still tons of so-bad-it’s-good, especially in the acting department. Indie horror fans might know the director’s incredible exploitation film, THE WITCH WHO CAME FROM THE SEA, but unlike that film, this has no subtext, it’s just dumb action. And I love it. A year later, Cimber and Landon would reunite to make an even dumber film, YELLOWHAIR AND THE FORTRESS OF GOLD (which I of course own). Recommend to b-movie fans and CONAN-ripoff completists.

Before Barbarian Queen, before Sorceress, before even Red Sonja... there was #Hundra. The first female-led #swordandsorcery flick to take up arms in the wake of Conan the Barbarian's box office conquest, it was directed by #MattCimber (Jayne Mansfield's third husband, who also co-created the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) and stars #LaureneLandon as the titular Amazon warrior-woman. Hundra starts the same as every post-Conan fantasy movie from the 1980s: with a horde of berserkers pillaging a small rustic community, leaving behind only a single survivor to pursue vengeance. In this case, the community is a nomadic tribe of formerly enslaved women who, after liberating themselves, created their own independent society. The attackers, meanwhile, are bitter menfolk, disdainful of the idea that women should be anything more than human pets. Right away, it's clear that Hundra has more on its mind than most cinematic D&D modules of its ilk. The film swaps out John Milius' Nietzschean philosophy in favor of militant feminist separatism. The women here are truly the baddest of asses, with multiple men required to take down even one of them. Hell, in the first act, Landon single-handedly fights and kills sixteen well-armed vikings on horses. It's awesome! Hundra's feminist themes are slightly compromised, however, when the plot shifts towards Landon (who early on states "No man will ever penetrate my body... with sword or himself") getting a makeover in order to woo a mate and continue her fallen tribe's bloodline. Landon's misadventures in charm school feel at odds with the film's thesis, though they ultimately lead to her helping other oppressed women find their inner strength. Thankfully, Landon's steely demeanor sells us on the idea that she's not actually sacrificing her identity to placate some dude. She's just trying to get some dick. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Throw in a rousing #EnnioMorricone score, Zack Snyder-levels of slow-mo abuse, and a surprising amount of levity, and Hundra proves itself more than just a rowdy low-budget #fantasymovie. It is, in fact, one of the more interesting examples of its genre and of its era. ♀️
