After initially reading about the plot, I thought it would just be…weird, but it pleasantly surprised me, as it had an interesting and unique story. I also loved the casting choices, as all of the main actors were pretty hilarious throughout, which I would say is almost vital for making an excellent comedy. It also had dramatic and thrilling moments with a teensy bit of horror to keep the viewers on edge, which was neat. Step Brothers - Directed by Adam McKay, starring Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Mary Steenburgen and Richard Jenkins. When 2 people get together, both the wife and husband have 40 year old sons that live at home. From enemies to best friends they try and find their way to becoming an adult. With that out of the way, what did I think? This is, without a doubt, my favourite comedy ever made. I can’t tell you how many times I have watched this and every single time, I’m laughing from start to finish. It’s the perfect comedy film. Both Will and John are perfect for the roles and I can’t see anyone else playing these roles. Both parents are perfect! Brennans brother Derek, played by Adam Scott and his wife, Alice, played by Kathryn Hahn….just perfect casting. Everyone bounces off each other perfectly and still to this day I don’t know how they filmed it….i wouldn’t be able to stop laughing trying to act out each scene. My favourite part has to be the montage after they become best friends and decide to make bunk beds 😂😂 there are SO many phrases that I say from this film all the time too. From ‘did you touch my drum set?’ to ‘for a minute, you took the form of a unicorn’ 😂😂 i also loved the sleepwalking scenes too 😂😂 so so good! I could go on about how good this movie is. It’s flawless…there isn’t a single thing about this film I would change or would have liked to have seen. I’m so glad they didn’t do a sequel and just left it as its own entity. Review Wild America 1997 DVD Rating: 3.5/5 Wild America is an entertaining adventure story that centres on the family dynamic and exploration of the natural world. This is one of the most Walt Disney films not produced by Walt Disney. Filmmaker William Dear has built his career on family stories that often include outlandish concepts. This is a more grounded story compared to the others and Dear provides an old school sentimentality, similar to a Joe Johnson film. Dear uses the story to focus on the bond of the three brothers as they navigate the obstacles of grown up and their quiet existence. The film wasn’t a hit when it released and it was another film that failed to capture Jonathan Taylor Thomas‘s fame. It’s not a classic by any means but it’s a whimsical story that has the building blocks of a family film. It’s not exactly a whole family story as the no-nonsense father is more concerned about the day to day life and can’t embrace what his children’s interests are. It’s a film I can connect with like many others who grew up with older generation sensibilities and I still enjoy watching this. It’s a harmless and an underrated Dear film, much like If Looks Could Kill. I’ll be honest, I’m not usually a documentary guy (unless I just watched a great film and there’s one on the disk or it’s about comics or flat out Blue Planet) sorry, not sorry 🤷♂️ but when I saw Saturn’s Core was putting one out, I’ll admit, I was a little more than curious. More anecdotes of experiences in video stores than a chronicle of their rise and fall. And even though I have very little nostalgia compared to some of the people interviewed here, I gotta say, a lot of those stories hit home for me. Do I miss the atmosphere of vintage video stores? Yes. If I could go back and visit for fun? Definitely. Would I ever get back into VHS for nostalgia’s sake? Fuck. Me sigue pareciendo súper original y la nostalgia se apodera de mi, pero en cuanto a efectos especiales...flojea bastante. Los demonios pequeñillos están muy apañados, pero el gran demonio final es un verdadero desastre. Debut del director húngaro que posteriormente nos dejó otras bizarradas como Lecturas diabólicas, Mosquitoman o MegaSnake. También hizo su primera aparición en la gran pantalla Stephen Dorff, protagonista de la peli con tan sólo 13 años.
