It's been a while since I lived in Asia so beginning of this year was a real treat. More than 2 months in thailand reminded me that it's possible to work remotely if you setup your life that way. What you get in return is better quality of life, adventure, better balance, new experiences and priceless lesson for your kids. My lil one grew so much in these 2 months. She become very self-confident and independent, happy to talk with seller at local markets, loving local school and the different ways of learning, ordering and eating Thai food like a pro, speaking English actively instead of understanding passively, and seeing how it's possible to go for a swim every morning before work and still get all responsibilities done. Over the last three years, I’ve taken 3 major trips and one small getaway without my kids. It might seem selfish, but to me, it brought self-contentment and helped me understand what I truly wanted. I stopped feeling the fear of missing out, Going solo may not be for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. I realized it felt much needed for me at that time. In the current situation, most of the times I don’t want to be away from my kids. I’m genuinely happy and content, and these feelings may be a result of those trips. I know that not everyone may find themselves in a position to do the same, and that’s okay too. Everyone should make best out of their situation. Trust me, half the time, you think you want something, but reality may be different. If you genuinely feel the desire in your heart, give it a try, and you might discover it wasn’t as important as you thought. So, go ahead and tackle your bucket list. A long day traveling with my mom. For her 80th birthday we're going to Austria to celebrate with our relatives in Styria and see as many of our relatives as we can fit into a six day visit. Now that we've arrived at my uncle's place in Gutenberg a.d. Raabklamm we're super tired after being on the go for eleven hours. Public transport to the airport, flying to Vienna, Flixbus to Graz and then by car to our final destination. Phew! All in all it has been a very comfortable trip without any delays or problems so still totally happy. I’ve lost track of what installment of the travel mom spotlight series this is and I think that’s a good sign! So many amazing moms have been highlighted and I’m so excited to add Macy to the ranks. When she described herself as organized and balanced, I knew why I had chosen to follow her in the first place. She is my kind of thoughtful family traveler! Macy has been to over 20 countries on three continents. Some of her favorite vacation destinations include Croatia and Switzerland. Both on my short list! Some amazing family travel tips she shared in her interview: 🌟 Nervous about traveling with kids? Start by making a list of attractions, experiences, and restaurants for a location. From there you can build a loose plan for each day of travel. This will give you the confidence to you have a plan and that you won’t end up hangry but still leave you with the flexibility to go with the flow. Both things are so important when traveling with kids!! 🌟 Not sure how to find time to plan it all? Macy sits down with her family’s travel wishlist, work, and school calendars and takes a few hours to map out a year’s worth of travel! I love the idea of doing it all at once.
