Whilst I was away last week I told myself that going forwards, every Monday, would be an accountability day for me. Every time a new week rolls round, I'd post some honest snaps of how I currently feel and look. When it came round to doing it today suddenly I didn't feel so sure this was a good idea. It suddenly felt very uncomfortable for me to post pictures that are utterly unfiltered and unflattering. I paused then to think maybe this isn't such a great idea, and after all, who wants or needs to see this on their newsfeed? I then decided to click my big red F*ck it button, after remembering, I'm not on this earth to impress anybody other than myself. Truthfully speaking I'd summarise life as being as good as its ever been with every area apart from the constant self loathing and shame I carry inwardly with how I look. I've been resting on my laurels for the past 5 years, scrolling endlessly on here in the evenings, admittedly with complete envy of those who look physically fantastic and healthy. Not jealous. Envious. Massive difference!! They say if you can't beat them. Join them. I'm making a promise to myself to get in the shape of my life, for me. Of course we all love to have others make us feel goof about ourselves and reap the rewards of praise when hard work does indeed pay off. But for now, every Monday I'm going to post my weight, a body pic and a random asf pic of my day. Today it was being on the tennis court after a week off. Hitting some uber camp and dreadful backhands.. but I tried. And I'll keep trying till the work pays off. With everything. Haven't done this post for attention, likes, sympathy or any emotion other than to force me to hold myself accountable for my fitness journey. That has been eating dust for 5 years solid. This is going to be a long process but it has to start somewhere. I want to be happy when I look at myself. Worst part is going to the beach on my recent holiday and it taking about an hour to feel comfortable enough to take off my t shirt worrying about other people's opinions of me. Complete strangers. First ever attempt at stand-up paddle today (minus the standing up🙃🤣). Wasn't exactly the most successful attempt as it was VERY windy...see video for a chuckle... I hit the blue. I had been being butch and charismatic. I was sure that the nudge was a nudge in the right direction, and the doors were all opening in unison. Life isn’t that straight forward. The rose tint glasses last until the thunder hits. I felt resilient and indestructible and now I feel deflated. If I acknowledge this and know I have good reason. I can hug the inner child and accept that right now I have run out of steam, of oomph and moving forward maybe there is a golden lining. Last night I had a similar instance with my youngest. She started shouting about different things and then after 30 mins of toing and froing we realised she was desperately anxious. She has lots of things to be anxious about: exams, 6th form where?, Dad away, Mum with job issues, the future generally - she can’t see it. Once we eyeballed the anxiety, and discussed that maybe she had good reason to be anxious. Fringe trees. My neighborhood has several of them, and I love the smell. It's much better than the gross Bradford Pear trees we, unfortunately, have. My HOA is militant about native plants, yet they let the gross Brafdor Pear outside my house that sheds awful, smelly petals on my car. When I say militant about native plants, I mean it. To the degree that I seriously wonder why that's all they care about and I really need them to focus on things like the people using their houses as airbnbs and the guests trashing visitors parking and other public spaces. So it's been a while since I posted and boy have I been going through having completely relapsed into my eating disorder it has been such a trek through emotional sludgy marshes and quick sand so deep I couldn't breath. But I think im starting to see the light.... If faint and far off its just about there. Having spent the weekend away (sick as dog with never ending cold) in Paris to see family.... who still don't know about Ed I've been forced to attempt new food/cuisines Inc...Thai and eat on their schedule....which if you don't know Parisians is VERY OFTEN. So completely out of my control, which over all hasn't been a bad thing... I haven't eaten exactly as I should and there have been sweet treats but I'm not completely filled with rage full self loathing so there's that. Onwards....I HOPE?
