Aber es gilt danach wieder aufzustehen, Mund ab zu putzen, Kopf aufzurichten und weiter geht es im Leben, auch wenn es noch so schwer fällt. Diese Situation hat mich gezeichnet fürs Leben, gezeigt wie die Gesellschaft ist, aber das auch nicht alles schlecht ist im Leben. Umso mehr geht es mir gut und macht mich glücklich, daß es Menschen gab und gibt, die mich begleiten im Leben und mir helfen zurück ins Leben zu finden und für mich da sind. Ich bin unendlich dankbar dafür und weiß das auch sehr zu schätzen. DANKESCHÖN 🙏. Dieses Bild beschreibt diese Situation so gut. Am Boden zerstört und Menschen um einen herum haben, die der Fels in der Brandung sind und einen beschützen. Sometimes there are situations in life where you are down and out, like last year, on exactly the same day as today. I would have put my hand in the fire and never thought that I would end up in a situation like that in my life. Devastated. But you have to get up afterwards, wipe your mouth, hold your head up and carry on with life, no matter how difficult it is. This situation has scarred me for life, shown me what society is like, but also that not everything in life is bad. This makes me feel all the better and makes me happy that there were and are people who accompany me in life and help me find my way back to life and are there for me. #FridayFlatLay I went to the Brantford Symphony Orchestra 2024 Book Fair yesterday and picked these up: Tipping the Velvet by Sahar Waters. I love her writing. I read 3 of her books already and wanted to add this one to my collection. Trespasses by Louise Kennedy. I have read this book already, loved it and wanted to own a copy. Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova. I have this book, but in pocket size and the font is so small it’s a challenge. I have read 2 of her books and I love her writing, so this is a welcome addition. The Shadow King by Maaza Mengiste. This is a great addition to my 24 Countries in 2024 challenge. It was also shortlisted for the 2020 Booker Prize. The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd. I Love SMK, so how could I have not picked up a copy of this? The Nix by Nathan Hill. Although Wellness wasn’t my favourite read, I have high hopes for this one. I own her other book, Ru, but haven’t read it yet, although I have seen some great reviews. Pigeon English by Stephen Kelman. I love coming of age stories and this one has me intrigued. Plus, it was shortlisted for the 2011 Man Booker Prize. The Lioness by Chris Bohjalian. I haven’t read any Bohjalian yet, but I love the premise of this one. The Double Life of Benson Yu by Kevin Chong. This one was shortlisted for the Giller Prize and it sounds interesting.
