The trough of low pressure which hit the Al Buraimi Governorate and the Sultanate of Oman led to beautiful natural formations that are attracting visitors from different governorates. The rains that fell in the governorates led to the overflow of dams in the Wilayat of Mahda. Apart from overflow, the dams in the region also stored 3.331 million cubic metres of water The heavy rains caused overflow of wadis which also attracted visitors to the wilayat of Mahda including Wadi Shrm, Wadi Al Qahi, Wadi Al Khadhra, Wad Abu Qala’a and Wadi Al Hayol among others. The overflow of wadis also occurred in the Wilayat of Al Sinainah including Wadi Wasit, Wadi Al Fayadh, Wadi Ajran and other wadis. Natural water formations covering large areas are visible in the Jari Al Hoya region. The Lighthouse at Palo Duro Canyon is one of the sites I hiked to at this state park during my second pitstop on the way to the Total Eclipse. It had been a stormy day in Yosemite. The clouds were billowing in the sky in the late afternoon. A dark cloud threatened more rain. I had my camera ready as the sky opened up and beautiful light spilled between the clouds. The light lit up the cliffs and the tree tops. I saw the light shine through the clouds spectacularly and light up some of the clouds as well. The sight was glorious! It began to drizzle again. We sat in the car and watched the light playing with the clouds. It was a quiet hour, when my heart was still, when my soul was in prayer for complete peace. I was looking through photos of the nebula in the night sky and happened upon NGC7000, a distant and faint nebula. Something about that nebula seemed pretty exciting, so I proceeded to photograph it with a Takahashi Newtonian astrograph, F2.8 telescope and a 294MC cooled Zwo color camera. I created a number of subs and then stacked them. The image was still faint, though I loved its shape. As I edited it, I realized it had real potential. There was a lot of color, but the light was still quite faint as though barely a whisper were there. Something told me to add more light. I added light, lots of light! Wow! Sometimes a prayer takes flight from just a whisper of the heart, sometimes we hardly realize we are praying. And then just what we need is given.
