UPDATE.. It's just devastating. We find ourselves back at the emergency room once again. Today, my poor little one is unable to walk, and he has lost all interest in eating or drinking. The sight of it breaks my heart. To make matters worse, there is this enormous lump on his side, as big as a softball. The doctor has just confirmed that it's a pocket filled with fluid, a common occurrence after surgery. As a result, he needs to spend another night here, receiving IV fluids and antibiotics. And on top of it all, my baby has a fever. I can see it in his eyes, in his demeanor - he is not himself today. It's heart-wrenching. This morning, when he woke up, I could tell something was wrong. My instincts were right. Which is a fantastic success 🎊 mahoosive progress 🍾 every previous painting has made me quite sad at the massive disconnect between hand and brain and gone straight to the bin, but it seems I have learnt something. Like to not carried away mixing all the colours and turning everything into different shades of brown. The scene is from the longest day on the West Highland Way, we walked for a total of 21 miles. I say walked but I was a'hobbling on the cobbling, Mum was powering ahead putting me to shame. Coming down the hill into Kingshouse, the smokey chimneys of the bunkhouse were a delightful sight. We ended up hiking into dusk, I was going pretty slow due to an old ankle injury resurfacing and my shoes being wholly unsuitable for the stony path. When we arrived I collapsed on the concrete floor with my swollen feet in the air and was loathe to put shoes on ever again. This ear/sinus infection I've had since 2019. It's mastoiditis. I've been walking around with an infection in the bones of my ear for 5 years. FIVE. I saw a specialist in 2020 and he told me there was nothing wrong. Just a small infection. Since 2019 I have been on antibiotics every other week. Buying fish mox off the internet just to make it through work days. Being told I'm fine. And now I have something that's could cause meningitis Like wtf. Could you imagine if I didn't know enough to know that fish antibiotics will work the same way. I would be dead from this already. 😡 You know how many days I've walked around with head pain just BARELY making it through the day sometimes. AND I WAS FU$KING RIGHT. I will forever be grateful to this ER doc. Cuz he started out blowing me off too and then he looked and was like ya no you are gonna be here awhile. I could be freaking DEAD right now.
