Monkey Man (2024) - Movie Review Unsurprisingly, Monkey Man was a pretty good action thriller. It's filled with much adrenaline all throughout the film. Dev Patel's directorial debut was successful, he has a promising future being a director. I've known of Dev Patel for a long time, with a few of his films from Slumdog Millionaire, The Green Knight, I've been a fan of his work. Now the story was straightforward, with one of the main focuses being about revenge. After a traumatic childhood event, Kid's only purpose is to avenge the death of his mother. The film also discussed other themes from discrimination, caste system, and corruption, the commentary about was good. One of my favorite things about this film were the action sequences. As many of them carried the feelings of being shocking, chaotic, and brutal. The violence & gore are done well in here, I have no complaints. I personally didn't see the Issue with shaky cam, with the exception of a few scenes, where it really wasn't necessary. As far cons go, I would say that the shaky cam wasn't necessary in a few of the scenes. Performances by the cast were good. Dev Patel hits it out of the ballpark. From his direction, to perfomance, he does an excellent job. Sikandar Kher was nice as a villain, being unforgiving at times with his actions. Sobhita Dhulipala's role may have been somewhat small, but I liked her perfomance. I wish her character was in here a little more. Everyone else portrays their character fine for me. I'm not sure what else I can say about the film, It was a great viewing. Love and Monsters Seven years after he survived the monster apocalypse, lovably hapless Joel leaves his cozy underground bunker behind on a quest to reunite with his high school sweetheart. Starring - Dylan O'Brien, Jessica Henwick, Michael Rooker, Dan Ewing, Ariana Greenblatt, Ellen Hollman, Melanie Zanetti. I watched this one last week for the first time and honestly i really enjoyed it. The story is one that instantly gets you hooked and it is truly that case of, the journey being more exciting than the destination. Though i will say this film did a good job in both, as you think you know how a film like this is going to go, so when it switched the formula up it caught me so off guard, but in a way that i understood the reasoning for. Something i always love about the post apocalyptic type movies in particular is, each film or series that does it, always puts their own little hallmarks on it, so that you don't immediately associate it with another movie or show. That happened here as the monsters are basically mutated versions of everyday animals but huge, like the size of a truck, you see everything from Frogs, Snails, Crabs and others. It really nails that sense of anything could get you in the wilderness and has you on edge wondering which crazy thing you'll see next. But i had a really fun time with it, Joel traversing this world whilst being extremely anxious and the people he meets made the film a really entertaining watch. Standouts - Dylan O'Brien was brilliant. Honestly the way he portrayed Joel's fear and emotional state was incredible. Also i have to give plaudits to Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt, their characters dynamic with Joel brought more weight to things and some needed lightness to the movie. Bottom line, you may see the poor box office performance of this and write it off, but it was released in cinemas in October 2020, as we all know a time of heavy covid restrictions. So it was always going to struggle. But honestly, give it a watch and i guarantee you'll have fun with it. Available on Netflix. What did you think of the Film?

Firstly thanks again to studio distribution services for sending me a copy of the holdovers. This film has already won 3 critics choice awards & 2 golden globes & a plether of others. I understand why! So let's get into it! Alexander Payne always has a unique & rich form a storytelling, which creates a dynamic atmosphere ranging with unique characters. This film in particular I was blown away with casting decisions, it was INCREDIBLE! Paul Giamatti EXCELLED in The Holdovers. DaVine Joy's slays every roll she takes on. Finally we have Dominic Sessa who took on the role of troubled Teenager Angus. Who's role in this film was VITAL, and executed beautifully. It's quite amazing the level of impact one person can have on your life. I do LOVE a touching movie! The first thing you need to know is you're gonna have a great time, it's funny, but it's got many, many layers.. some being more serious & heartfelt The second thing I LOVED. The way in which the characters are slowly unveiled. From the second it began till the credits rolled I was invested into knowing the backstories of everyone but it really keeps you hooked. Thirdly it's got a deep message being told within its screenplay. And it deals with things such a Bearvement, Depression, Loneliness. Having the cluster of these tormented characters come together and interact that way they did, honestly made me emotional. Couldn't ask for a better ending, it made my heart so full. You CAN let go of unhealthy habits, you CAN change lives. You're the driver in your life, and sometimes it just takes a little perspective. Preporuka za odvažne filmoljupce i sve koji se drznu, a trebali bi, pogledati ovaj film “Zone if Interest” (Zona interesa)‼️ Uh. Film koji bez ijedne decidirane scene ove povijesne drame o holokaustu, uspijeva samo zvukom (!) izazvati neviđenu jezu. Koji scenama pitoresknog života fiktivne obitelji glavnog zapovjednika Auschwitza čiji raskošan rajski vrt zidom graniči s logorom, priča cijelu priču. Bez ijedne strašne scene, film je duboko uznemirujući, jasno nominiran za nekoliko Oscara (da, glumica je ista kao i u “Anatomiji pada”, Sandra Hüller). Film za koji sam se emotivno pripremala nakon upozorenja o potrebi pripreme, uspjevši ga pogledati bez treptaja, simultano se diveći art dojmu kroz vještinu kojom nam je podastrijet ovaj briljantni uradak. Međutim… priznajem, imala sam izrazito tešku noć, košmarnu s buđenjima, nesvjesnim evociranjem zvukova, gotovo osjećajući dim iz logorskih spalionica sposobnih za velike “terete” koje mogu primiti odjednom. Rekla bih, imala sam post reakciju. Usput, nakon filma potrebno je piće! Čisto da znate. Mislim da se i osjetljivi trebaju odvesti odgledati ovaj…..dojmljiv film.
