A trama é desenvolvida aos poucos, com um ritmo bastante lento. Isso pode até afastar algumas pessoas, mas essa calma é essencial para que tudo funcione, estabelecendo um mundo absolutamente crível e corriqueiro, e entregando um primoroso desenvolvimento de personagens. Só depois de preparar muito bem o terreno que um novo elemento é inserido (não revelarei, óbvio). Garanto que ao invés de se sentir entediado, você ficará fortemente envolvido. É um filme tão magnético que nem percebemos as 3h09min passarem. Roteiro e direção transformam um cenário mórbido em um ambiente relativamente amistoso, embora a eminência da morte nunca seja esquecida. Esse mérito vem da habilidade de Darabont de equilibrar diferentes gêneros, sem que estes ofusquem a proposta dramática. O longa também possui uma série de subtextos interessantes sobre religião e preconceito, que embora claros, nunca se tornam excessivamente didáticos. "À espera de um milagre" mexe muito com nossas emoções e sentimentos. O grande mérito aqui, é que tudo surge naturalmente, sem maniqueísmos por parte de uma trilha sonora chorosa ou de exageros por parte do elenco. Aliás, que elenco fabuloso! ARGYLLE (2024) - Incredibly convoluted and overstuffed full of twists to a point beyond parody and exhaustion, Argylle is straight-up trash. _ It is so simple yet told in the most complex way possible, with back and forth timelines, about 15 double crosses, reveals and twists. It got to a point where I just gave up on the whole thing and trying to follow it all. _ Any narrative sense or structure is discarded for shock value moments and Vaughn becomes more concerned with where the next twist will come from, rather than fleshing out the story, lore or characters. _ The rest of it is generic spy nonsense filled with cliches. There is also the awfully unfunny screenplay, pedestrian performances (Sam Rockwell innocent) and shoddy CGI. Matchstick Men is an underrated Ridley Scott flick that is very messy, but undeniably charming and fun. It tried to tackle different genres, best working as a comedy and working the least as a heist crime story due to too many plot holes, though the twist ending was unquestionably memorable. Les décors sont assez limités mais ne sont pas un frein à l'intrigue, bien qu'elle s'étale sur 3 heures. Je ne vois pas quoi regretter en dehors de quelques incohérences scénaristiques (je pense à la ceinture de Billy WHARTON dans sa cellule par exemple) que ne verrons que les yeux les plus avertis. Moviegeek’s Thoughts on Argylle (2024) . . What a waste of a talented cast. . A total misfire of a spy caper that falters with every ludicrous plot twist, “Argylle”, directed by Matthew Vaughn, is a messy film that drags along the more it tangles itself with an overly complicated espionage plot. Throwing so many ideas at the wall that, although may have potential if handled correctly, ultimately get crushed by the weight of its overstuffed screenplay that prioritizes shocking revelations rather than meaningful or even remotely exciting story beats. . The film's unbelievably bloated runtime doesn't justify its length, and its plot, which revolves around the mystery of why a spy novelist's books predict the future and all the twists and turns that come with this global adventure, lacks logic, momentum, coherence, and compelling characters. Hindered by odd storytelling choices and laughably bad surprises that don’t make sense once you piece it all together, the film is a chore to sit through as it struggles to find its groove amidst all the preposterous plot beats, repetitious drama, and choppy editing. . It’s hard to engage with the story because there’s little to no charm or likable characters involved, with the most interesting thing being the passable performances from lead actors Bryce Dallas Howard and Sam Rockwell, who share a somewhat humorous dynamic that isn’t totally insufferable. Even so, there’s not much to work with, as their character writing feels underdeveloped and one-note. Neither do the action sequences make up for the film’s shortcomings, as each explosive set piece is clunky in terms of choreography, framing, and musical cues. It also doesn’t help that the CGI is horrid, and there’s an obvious lack of blood in the gunplay that definitely takes away from the tension. * Final verdict in Part 2 in the comments down below! *

It's a predictable story and one we have seen before. It's not original, but still has several cool action scenes. The cast is top notch with Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Arianna DeBose, and Samuel L. Jackson. Unfortunately, the writing is subpar and brings the film down. It does not have many momentus scenes or cool action lines. It's still enjoyable and entertaining, but you won't be thinking about it later. It's a decent spy thriller that we've seen before, but still is a good time.
