Value wine. What does that mean? To me, I use that term for an affordable wine (and sure, affordable is subjective) that is totally worth whatever you’ve paid for it, and probably brings more complexity than its price. I’ve always seen La Crema’s $20ish bottles (and often under) as value wines. For Wine Spectator, value means rated higher than 90 points, costs less than $40, and is widely available. While our definitions are a bit different, we both see the value in La Crema. (See below for more on that.) The latest vintages of La Crema’s $20ish bottles are delivering the value I’ve come to expect. La Crema 2022 Monterey Chardonnay: Pretty gold color. Vanilla. Lemon/Lime. Apple. Pear. Light oak. Absolutely a Chardonnay. Enjoyable. Pulls no punches. Does what it’s supposed to do. La Crema 2023 Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc: Sharp and crisp. Intense flavors of lemon, grapefruit, apple. Underlying vegetal notes. Summer sipper for sure. La Crema 2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir: The one Wine Spectator named top value wine for 2023 (but the 2021 vintage). 2023 Fidelio, a Sauvignon Blanc, from Realm Cellars in Napa Valley. Notes of lemongrass, pear, pineapple, and green apple. Absolutely lovely wine. Manon, à la découverte de l’agence IP Tosca. Première d’une série de fiches techniques qui te permettra de découvrir le magnifique portfolio de l’agence @iptosca . On commence ça avec le vignoble Macea, situé dans la région de Lucca en Toscane. c’est un petit domaine de 2 hectares de vignes bien implantées dans leur écosystème. Le vigneron Cipriano y travaille en biodynamie depuis 2004. La micro-cuvée Sauvignon-Blanc est unique en son genre! On y a fait une macération de 5 jours des grappes entières dans des cuves ouvertes. Par la suite, l’élevage s’est fait en barrique durant 8-9 mois avec bâtonnage. On a eu droit à une belle extraction d’arômes de fruits exotiques et d’arômes herbacées. נתקלתי הבוקר בפוסט של @assaf_winery על כך שמאז ה7.10 יש מיעוט מבקרים במקום. זה גם מה ששמעתי מהם כשביקרתי שם אתמול. מי שמכיר אותי יודע שאני מטייל בארץ לא מעט והרבה מאוד ברמת הגולן. מזה תקופה אני שומע מכל מיני תושבים ובעלי עסקים על תקופה מאתגרת מאוד. אז על אף התקופה אני ממליץ לכולם להמשיך לטייל בצפון. גם ברמת הגולן יש הרבה מאוד אזורים מדהימים ובטוחים למרות המצב. ואם כבר אתם מטיילים, היכנסו ליקבים, מסעדות או כל עסק קטן גדול וקנו שם. כל קניה וכל ביקור הם תרומה, תמיכה וחיזוק לתושבים בחבלי הארץ מאותגרים מאוד בתקופה שהמדינה לא עושה כן. לגבי יקב אסף, יין הוא כמובן עניין של טעם ולכל אחד יש את המועדף עליו, אבל אי אפשר להתווכח על כך שהמקום מקסים ועושה חשק אדיר לשתות יין, לאכול אוכל מעולה ולהוריד דופק לזמן קצר בתקופה הכי משוגעת שהייתה פה. טוב לבריאות. אני אגב, שתיתי סוביניון בלאן שהתיישן בחבית והיה משובח. הבייגלה הטרי והגבינות המעולות בכלל העיפו את הסכך. בשורות טובות. #wine #golanheights #winelover #winetasting #sauvignonblanc #winery
