S Y C H R Y D - W A T E R F A L L . 📍 Rhigos, South Wales . While visiting family in Wales, I was determined to get out exploring with camera - despite pretty terrible weather. . On this trip out, I decided to find a waterfall I'd never visited before. The steep, rocky path from the carpark was pretty treacherous in the tipping down rain. When I found the waterfall though, I discovered that I'd have to climb about 15 feet down a cliffside onto these wet, slippery rocks with all my gear. . I find working in difficult conditions very distracting - trying to frame a composition with correct settings, all while not slipping into the raging river and protecting my gear as best I could from the rain. . The rain was relentless, but I managed to snatch a few shots between lens & filter wipes. Around fifteen minutes after I climbed down, the sky turned black which cut out the light and threatened a biblical downpour (which did later come!) for my scramble back up. So yesterday I decided to have a day in the Brecon beacons. That meant a 4am alarm clock, out of the house at 5 and getting to Dinas rock car park at 9am. Why would you do that? Well, the Welsh waterfalls keep pulling me in. 'Love' taking photographs of them. This time I got into the water itself to get this pic. Yes, this pic is not perfect. I was too late for the autumn colours, the sunlight was coming in a little too much (Yes I like a bit sunlight normally but with filters you dont have a lens hood so you can get quite a bit of glare. As you would expect I have taken loads yesterday but this will do for now. Sychryd Falls First time visit to this location along with @andy_heard_55 Falls in full flow due to the obscene amount of rain of late. Unfortunately the light wasn't the best due to grey skies but the rain did hold off. This is a 4 shot vertical pano at 24mm to get the extra width and the height, then cropped some back off the top to lose the grey sky. Sychryd falls, Brecon Beacons. A location that I have wanted to go to for a long time, I wanted to visit here last Autumn but the weather took a turn for the worse the day before I wanted to go. This waterfall is less popular with bigger waterfalls a short drive away so it’s lots of a hidden gem. It has a bit of scramble down the bank amongst the slippery rocks but it worth getting down and seeing it from this point of view.
