'Suddenly I see...' ... beautiful views over Oban after climbing up to McCaig's tower which overlooks the town 💙🏛️💙 In 1897 John McCaig's intention was to provide a lasting monument to his family, and provide work for the local stonemasons during the winter months, unfortunately it was never finished as he intended, with statues and a central tower. His death in 1902 brought an end to construction, with only the outer walls completed. It dominates the Oban skyline, and is now a public garden with magnificent views to the islands of Kerrera, Lismore and Mull. I tried doing things many ways. My attempt to get the results, results that would make me feel at peace, peace with my financial life, with my body and the direction my life was going. Isn’t that what everybody else is doing? Trying to balance their life? Get a little grounded so they can try again? Even unconsciously, even when you drink and want to forget the pain and distract yourself from reality, the unbearable reality that you can’t do that much to change things yet, at the same time there’s so much that you could’ve done to change them. I discovered that painful belief was the one keeping my hands tied to guilt. Could I have done things differently? That’s what I wondered every time a friendship, a stage, a year and a job or an experience with a city would end. The attempt; the journey would end up changing me regardless, changing the outcome, changing the direction only to find myself at the same spots my teenage self would’ve loved to be. Thinking and solving a huge problem; taking the first step towards a new adventure hoping that this time I’ll find what I was missing in the previous place, person, failed attempt. This is how I started traveling. Finally ticking Snowdon off my bucket list 🙌. It was long time overdue and the hike, regardless of having zero visibility on the top, was spectacular. The weather held for us, despite the rain forecast, and we even got to enjoy the spring warm temperature and some glorious sunshine. We lost full visibility round half way up,but didn't really mind as we were having lots of fun ascending via the miners track. Once at the top, we quickly made our way to the trig before getting blown away with the wind. It was windy to the point where we had to hold hands to stand straight up. Perks of hiking med week, off the season and in not so great weather? No queues to the summit. A day out in Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door last Saturday felt like a real holiday ☀️
Couldn't visit Snowdonia without checking this beauty out. Walking up to the falls is fairly easy and accessible for all. You can go back to the car park the same way or do the circular, slightly longer route, which we opted for. It takes you by the second, smaller yet equally beautiful fall. This part of the route gets rugged. There are no men-made paths and there's quite a big hill to climb before having to take steep descent back to the car park. But once on the top of the hill you're reworded with the stunning views of both falls, mountain and the sea on the other side. Amazing spot to watch the sunset too. Short trail but well worth completing. Our first trip of the year with the Caravan & Camping with Greyhounds & Sighthounds Club 🛻 🚐 🐶 A PERFECT site for 2 kids & 2 dogs, absolutely 10/10 🙌🏼 📍 @love2stay 🧭 Shrewsbury We managed to put our Double Nipper @outnabout_official through some good terrain this weekend. We did so much walking with the dogs and the pram allowed both boys to sleep while we could keep up with the group. Still amazed by the suspension & durability of this pram! 🚻 The toilet / shower facilities were warm, clean & played music! Not only did they have baby change facilities but actual baby baths! 🏕 Facilities: They have TWO swimming pools 🏊♀️ a warm(ish) heated outdoor swimming pool / beach area an absolutely freezing natural pool with hot tubs!! All included in your pitch price! Plenty to keep the kids entertained all year round. They have a fishing lake too 🎣 Lake for watersports like padel boarding 🚣♀️ 🐕 as you can see, Lilah had the most fantastic weekend. Not 1 but 2 fantastic dog parks, even has a heated FREE dog wash & dry facility!! THE MAIDEN VOYAGE 🛻 🚐 Ahead of our big weekend with the #caravanandcampingclub we thought we'd go test out our new digs a little closer to home & find our feet as a family of 6 without anyone watching 🤣 so we opted for a 2 night stay with 📍 @manor.wood 🧭 Chester Thankfully no one witnessed the car journey down as they were both screaming, we had to stop at the services as I'd put R's arm back into his car seat strap & caused a meltdown?! #toddlertantrums Anyway, we survived.... The site ticked alot of boxes for us, there were 3 great play areas, one in particular (albeit small) was fantastic for a toddler and was right next to the cafe. 🚻 The toilet / shower facilities were clean & warm with a baby change. 🏕 Facilities: They have a swimming pool 🏊♀️ altough out of season when we visited & free tennis court 🎾 open all year round. Plenty to keep the kids entertained. Teenagers too as they have a "Hideout" & games room. They have 2 fishing lakes too if you actually have time to enjoy yourself 🎣 maybe one day?! 🐕 would be lovely to have a designated dog walk area as our 2 sighthounds enjoy a good run before settling back into life as couch potato's, id say for us this was the only negative. 🤹♂️ We also visited an amazing soft play centre only 20 minutes away from site @zippysplayworld super clean and lots to do. They do a meal deal with a picnic style lunch which is perfect for our picky crisp & yoghurt eating toddler. They had an under 2s sensory room and an under 3s dedicated soft play so absolutely perfect for our 15 month age gap. ☕️ there's also a drive through Costa just down the round for the journey home! Predstavte si, že sa začína váš bežný pracovný deň... vysoko v konskom sedle a v dychberúcej anglickej krajine. 👇 Pointa Dievčaťa v Londýne bola od začiatku myšlienka, že si na mojom mieste môžete dosadiť sami seba a zažiť podobné príbehy na vlastnej koži. Sú to tiež úžasné inšpiratívne ženy, ktoré som mala to šťastie spoznať. Jeden taký príklad je Klára Hořínková (@kllaari ), s ktorou som sa spoznala vďaka Instagramu, pretože nádherne fotí. Spoznali sme sa osobne a rýchlo som zistila, že je to nielen veľmi sympatická a veselá žena, ale tiež ohromne talentovaná a skromná! S priateľom navyše žijú život, o akom by sa pokojne dal natočiť seriál: bývajú u bohatej anglickej rodiny na vidieckom ( = venkovním) “panstve”, kde majú k dispozícii celú krásnu chalúpku. Starajú sa rodine o domácnosť, deti (teraz už odrastené), psy a tiež dva športové kone a pozemky. Mohli by sme dokonca utrúsiť poznámku, že ide o také novodobé Panstvo Downton, hoci rodina, u ktorej Klárka pracuje, nie je zďaleka taká formálna (až na občasné hony, ktorých sa účastnia a fakt, že rozprávajú s prízvukom Received Pronunciation, čiže tzv. angličtinou kráľovnej). Hneď ako som sa s Klárkou spoznala, začala som premýšľať o tom, že s ňou jednoducho MUSÍM spraviť rozhovor. A podarilo sa! Veľmi by som vám ho chcela odporučiť, hoci som ho schválne nechala dlhý. Neboli v ňom totiž žiadne miesta, ktoré by som škrtla, je to jedno pútavé čítanie o tom, - ako vyzerá život na typickom anglickom vidieku, - ako sa dostala k netradičnej práci domestic couple, - aké vzrušujpce plány má do budúcna ako fotografka, - ktoré fotogenické miesta by vám odporučila navštíviť - a mnohých ďalších postrehoch! •Справжній Косий Провулок Гаррі Поттера• Вулиця, з покошеними будинками, що надихнула Дж. Роулінг на створення Косого Провулку знаходиться саме на цих фото. Справжня назва провулку - The Shambles одна з найкраще збережених середньовічних памʼяток, що вижили в Європі. Обрамлені деревʼяними брилами покошені будиночки тут з 14 століття і колись всі вони належали мʼясникам. Щоб врятувати мʼясо від нещадних променів сонця, мʼясники побудували «мʼясний ринок» як дуже вузьку вулицю, щоб спокійно вивішувати мʼясо за вікна прилавків. Минуло 700 років і в цих будинках тепер тисячі туристів розглядають новорічні іграшки з магазину, що продає їх цілий рік; «зілля» в магазині алкоголю в стилі Гаррі Потерра; шарфи та шкарпетки Гріфендору в магазині Імʼя Якого Не Можна Називати (реальна назва). Що вразило особисто мене, окрім звичайно можливості потрапити у минуле, це як вдало брити використали комерційну можливість після виходу Гаррі Поттера і максимально розкрутили ажіотаж Йорку для туристів. Я бачила вже не багато не мало міст у Британї і, на жаль, відмітила, що велика кількість з них не використовує свій історични потенціал. До прикладу, в Ліверпулі багато памʼяток повʼязаних з Бітлс були зруйновані для побудови парковок чи торгових центрів.
