My best tips for hiking Delicate Arch👇🏻 I’ve done this hike twice now, once for sunrise and once in the afternoon, so here’s what I think you should know: Delicate Arch is a 52 ft tall, 100% natural rock formation located in Arches National Park. It’s basically the logo for Utah since you’ll find it on the license plates and most of the souvenirs. The trail is approximately 3.2 miles round trip with 629 ft elevation gain. I suggest wearing hiking shoes & bringing lots of water. If you’re visiting in the summer, don’t come in the heat of the day because there’s practically no shade on this trail. I think the best time for this hike is sunrise because you can bypass the Arches NP reservation system by arriving before the park officially opens, it’s not too crowded, and the lighting is pretty good. Lots of people bring food and have a snack once they reach the top. Spring & fall are the best times to visit for the best weather. I’m not sure why you’d want to, but climbing the arch is illegal - so don’t even think about it! And don’t miss the secret viewpoint just before you turn the corner to reach Delicate Arch! It’s called the Twisted Donut (photo 9), and it’s like a little window to the Arch. Even if it’s crowded, I’ve given you lots of great angles to get creative with your pics here. Don’t hike in a dress! I did the first time and it was miserable haha, so the second time I just put it in my bag and threw it over my clothes when I got to the top. Save for your trip to Utah! 🤗

AMONG GIANTS🌳 - 🇺🇸 SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK 🇺🇸 My trip through California, the Golden State of the USA, took me next to Sequoia NP. The giant Sequoias are the largest trees in the world. 🌳 The largest known living tree on earth is the General Sherman Tree. At its base, the tree has a circumference of over 31 m, and towers nearly 84 m into the sky - and is still growing! 🌎 You might have thought that its size would make him the oldest tree in the world, but it's not. Of course, at around 2200 years old (no one knows the exact age), he is no young buck either. Giant Sequoias, however, are only the second oldest trees in existence. That honor goes to the ancient bristle one pines found in the White Mountains. 🐜When I walked into these groves of tall and very large trees, where the leaves touches the sky, I felt like I'm an ant in size. If I wanted to see the tops of the trees, I had to crane my neck. 😍 Nevertheless, I was very impressed by Sequoia National Park. US Roadtrip Day 4 cont’d 🇺🇸 After our significant detour to visit a tree, we headed to Bakersfield where we got our 2nd In-n-Out of the trip 🍔 Michael got the 4x4 (4 beef patties, lettuce, tomato, spread, 4 slices of American cheese - such an American creation) with grilled onions and I got a Grilled Cheese (2 slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, spread) with grilled onions 🧀 We’d done some research since our last visit and people suggested getting the fries well done which we tried and somehow they were crispy on the outside but weirdly hollow on the inside so were still highly disappointing 🍟 We also got a Neapolitan shake (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) which was delicious 🥛 After fuelling ourselves up, we continued the journey onto LA, specifically the Hometel in Koreatown which would be our accommodation for the next 2 nights 🌙 Once we checked in, we got the metro to Hollywood/Vine using our Tap cards (that just so happened to be Lunar New Year themed) to check out the Walk of Fame, Dolby Theatre & Grauman’s Chinese Theatre 🚶🏻♀️ To be honest, this part was slightly underwhelming and actually I think Hong Kong’s Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui is much nicer 🌟 There happened to be a free exhibition about Japanese design at Japan House which is located in the shopping centre where Dolby Theatre is so we popped in for a quick look around before our dinner reservation 🇯🇵 #foodforlorraine #foodwithboyf #foodonhols #latergram #foodie #yummy #usroadtrip #usa #losangeles #la #koreatown #walkoffame #lunch #innout

Here’s the 🫖 For Canyonlands National Park, everyone knows Mesa Arch is the place to be at sunrise. But I recommend heading just a bit to the left of the arch (if you’re facing it) for amazing views and hardly anyone next to you. (Photos 3-4) The underside of Mesa Arch doesn’t actually start to glow like this until after sunrise when the sun comes up and hits it. That’s why I suggest waiting on one of the sides until after the sun comes up. Most of the people clear out shortly after sunrise. No clue why because then they miss the best part - THE GLOW! Just wait it out a little bit and you’ll have it practically to yourself. 🤩 Then head over to my favorite viewpoint in the park, Green River Overlook (photos 5-6). Save for your trip to Canyonlands! 😄

Sudden plan to leave city for few days with mama kong to the cape cod, massachusetts for the first time, and ended up exploring so much nature through national seashore, hitting the beaches for the first time this season. So much fun wearing matching twenty dollars souvenir sweatshirt with mama kong roaming around the windy seaside of cape cod, getting that photoshoot done on tripod✌🏻🌊😁 엄마랑 급 떠난 짧은여행. 아직 추운 바닷가였지만 무계획으로 떠난 것 치곤 정말 알차게 보낸 며칠, 그리고 마지막날 바람 부는 바닷가에서 관광객 티 팍팍 내는 맨투맨 맞춰입고 뛰어다니며 투샷 건지기 성공. 엄마랑 간만에 둘만의 시간을 보낼수 있음에 감사했던 순간들. 케이프코드란 곳이 그냥 바닷가있는 동네인줄 만 알았는데, 국가에서 관리하는 국립해안가라, 여기저기 야생동물도 볼수 있고, 매우 깨끗해서 참 좋았다. 여름엔 자전거 타고 여기저기 바닷가들을 돌아다니며 즐길수 있어보이니, 여름에 오면 매우 북적이겠지만, 뉴욕에서 5-6시간 운전이면 올수있고, 햄튼과는 아주 다른 바다풍경을 즐길수 있으니 며칠 짧은 여행으로 오기 참 좋은 곳🩵
US Roadtrip Day 4 🇺🇸 Day 4 started with breakfast at Wendy’s where we tried the famous Breakfast Baconator (6 strips of Applewood smoked bacon, sausage, egg & cheese) Combo (comes with a small coffee/soft drink + potatoes - we went for a lemonade but must have upgraded it to a bigger size) $8.65 ~ £6.93, a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit $4.19 ~ £3.35 and a Vanilla Frosty Cream Cold Brew ☕️ We ordered on the self-service machines and also ordered 4 pc Homestyle French Toast Sticks $2.89 ~ £2.31 but it turned out they were sold out of those so I suggested substituting it with a medium Caramel Frosty Cream Cold Brew since it was the same price…they ended up giving me a small but by that point I couldn’t be bothered to argue with them so I just accepted it 😓 I actually really enjoyed the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit and preferred it to the Baconator but everyone highly recommends the potatoes and they’re not wrong - they looked underwhelming but are really well-seasoned and really crispy 😋 We then began the drive from Yosemite to LA via Sequoia National Park which wasn’t really on the way but when you have the chance to visit the world’s largest tree by volume a.k.a. the girth-iest tree in the world, 2 hours doesn’t seem like too bad a detour 🤷🏻♀️ It was cool to visit the General Sherman Tree as well as see the crazy snow that had hit the week before - it had only been cleared from the roads and was still very much present on the fields amongst the trees ❄️ This park also had the windiest roads I’ve ever seen, let alone driven on, in my entire life 🚘 #foodforlorraine #foodwithboyf #foodonhols #latergram #foodie #yummy #usroadtrip #usa #yosemite #wendys #breakfast #baconator #honeybutter #chicken #biscuit #coldbrew #lemonade

One of my favorite state parks 🤩 Utah’s state parks are just as incredible as their national parks, so a state park not to be missed is Dead Horse Point State Park. It’s basically a mini Canyonlands, and it has always been pretty empty in my experience. It’s actually a little closer to Moab than Canyonlands, which is another 15 minutes away. $20 per vehicle entrance fee. Don’t miss this state park on your trip to Utah!

STONE MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA - On my way back up north through Georgia, I made a stop in Atlanta, and specifically this time wanted to see Stone Mountain: a natural wonder and controversial monument. When I got closer, I was amazed with how big and massive this granite behemoth is (yes, in this case it really is the world’s largest!). Created from melted stone through the force of the continental drift, cooled down into granite, and exposed through erosion of all that once covered it. I took the cable tram up to see the carving up close, to walk on the granite, and to have a wonderful view of the woods and the Atlanta city silhouette in the distance. The carving took 47 years to create and depicts three confederate leaders. US Roadtrip Day 3 cont’d 🇺🇸 The hike back down was a lot easier (as expected) although we were quite exhausted by this point 😮💨 We celebrated completing the hike with dinner at a pizza chain near our accommodation called Round Table Pizza 🍕 We went for a large Italian Garlic Supreme (pepperoni, Italian sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, green onions, lots of garlic, creamy garlic sauce) $20.49 ~ £16.21 and a self-serve soda each $2.29 ~ £1.81 🥤 Apparently in America, most sodas are unlimited refills so maybe we should have just got 1 between us but oh well 🤷🏻♀️ The pizza was actually really yummy and although Michael’s not a big fan of tomatoes, I quite liked the addition of fresh tomatoes 🍅 Also, I love the cute little huts by the entrance/exit to Yosemite 🛖 #foodforlorraine #foodwithboyf #foodonhols #latergram #foodie #yummy #usroadtrip #usa #yosemite #roundtablepizza #pizza #dinner #garlic #tomatoes #mushroom

By mid afternoon yesterday we had left the Mojave Desert and California behind and entered Nevada. The route included the preserved town of Nipton near the NV/CA state line, a long ascent surrounded by Joshua Trees (ironically on the Joshua Tree Highway), and an incredibly stunning descent on the Laughlin Highway towards the Colorado River and the Arizona border. #usroadtrip #usa #california #nevada #usroadtrip

Often it was just the ridiculously long freight trains that were keeping us company. The wind was pretty bad too, whipping up mini dust storms.
