Qui vediamo un vecchio aratro, che veniva trainato dai buoi. Utilizzato fino a metà degli anni ‘50, serviva per rincalzare e scalzare il terreno intorno alle vigne. Aggiungere terra ai piedi delle piante (rincalzare) favorisce lo sviluppo delle radici e protegge le viti dal freddo; rimuovere parte della terra (scalzare) contribuisce ad areare il terreno e a mantenerlo pulito attorno alle viti, per assicurarne uno sviluppo migliore. Per il taglio dell’erba si usava la falce, e per la sua raccolta il rastrello, costruito interamente in legno. Con l’erba e il fieno si nutrivano gli animali.
