Когда приступаешь к просмотру ленты, в которой: - снимается Джерард Батлер ("Законопослушный гражданин", "Падение Лондона", "Падение Олимпа", "Падение ангела") - и Фрэнк Грилло ("Судная ночь-2,3", "День курка"), - а режиссёром которой является Джо Карнахан ("Козырные тузы" 2007, "Команда А" 2010, "Схватка" 2011, "Драйвер на ночь" 2014), то невольно ожидаешь маскулинное, олдскульное кино именно с этими парнями в главных ролях! По факту - первая часть ожиданий оправдалась в полной мере, но ведущую партию здесь всё же отыгрывает героиня актрисы Алексис Лоудер (ранее не замеченная в крупных проектах). Батлер и Грилло играют не маловажные роли, но лишь наполняя смыслом таинственность происходящего в полицейском участке, в котором служит самоотверженный новичок, офицер полиции Валери Янг (тот самый коп из названия фильма, как нетрудно догадаться). Первая половина фильма даёт нам достаточно вводных, которые не слишком то упрощают сюжет, а лишь путают, усложняют флэшбэками в прошлое героев, что делает невыполнимой до определённого момента задачей - определение кто же здесь хороший, а кто плохой из названия фильма?! Хоч щось розслабило мій мозок. На огляді кримінальна комедія «Драйвер на ніч», або просто «Stretch». Фільм розповідає нам про водія лімузину, і по сумісництву звичайного американського невдаху по кличці Стретч (Це точно відсилка на GTA). Його кинула дівчина його життя, він винен 6000$ своєму букмекеру, і на додачу до всього – він ненавидить свою роботу. Аж ось, одного разу йому випадає можливість повозити цілу ніч намаханого мажора, який пообіцяв йому щедрі чайові для виплати боргу, якщо він забере його кейс із пункту призначення. От тільки ця ніч не закінчиться для Стретча однією пригодою. Буквально на кожному повороті чувака переслідує небезпека, і цілком можливо, що цю ніч він не переживе… Що ж – це типова мудакувата комедія, якій не вистачає пам’ятних персонажів, як у Скорсезе, та методів Тарантіно. Проте філософщини хоч відбавляй. Головний герой абсолютно не вірить у долю, та старається всього нажити сам. Проте у долі були свої викрутаси, і сценаристи провели їх червоною ниткою впродовж стрічки, тож це один з небагатьох аспектів, який дійшов до своєї кульмінації. Фільм вийшов досить атмосферним, завдяки синтезаторній музичці, та нічному Лос-Анджелесу, що цілком вгруз у кримінальні розбірки. Актори свою роботу виконали. Друг України Патрік Вілсон (перевірте його Інсту, хто не вірить), добре впорався із образом такого собі лошка, який просто в один момент пустився берега. Та більше запам’ятався Кріс Пайн, в ролі шизонутого мажора. Пів фільму творив фігню, та жодного разу не світив пафосною мармизою (дякую перуці та бороді). А Ед Хелмс – це та людина, яку краще бачити в галюцинаціях. Камео знаменитостей – це сама пам’ятна частина стрічки. Всі відіграли свої епізодичні появи, проте самим дахозносним були 30 секунд Нормана Рідуса. Їх я ніколи не забуду. Фільм я раджу фанатам кримінальних комедій, які не будуть вішати на вуха локшину моралфагів. Так – головним героям немає причин симпатизувати, сценарій трішки недороблений, та для випробуваних кіноманів недостатньо креативний, але народ – це нічка в Лос-Анджелесі. А у Місті Янголів, рано чи пізно, комусь таки зносить дах. Подивіться для власного задоволення, якщо немає особливих ідей, аби провести вечір.

Just finished watching cop shop. Good movie! Joe Carnahan is and underrated director. The cast was great too! A police station becomes a war zone between a rookie cop, an assassin, and a con artist. Alexis Louder steals the show and holds her own against both Gerard Bulter and Frank Grillo. They’re good too. Co starring Toby Huss (Halloween), Chad L. ⠀ #Copshop (2021): 6/10 Director: Joe Carnahan Runtime: 108mins ⠀ Co-written and directed by Joe Carnahan (‘Boss Level’), Copshop sees wily con artist Teddy Murretto (Frank Grillo, ‘Boss Level’) purposely get arrested to hold up inside a nearby remote police station in the Nevada desert away from a hitman in pursuit. But when the hitman also shows up at the precinct, it’s up to rookie cop Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) to keep the two apart and out of harm’s way. ⠀ Aside from the film’s opening, the bulk of the story takes place inside the precinct, with Carnahan inspired by similar action thrillers of the past, such as John Carpenter’s ‘Assault On Precinct 13’. There is typical workplace banter between police colleagues, but much of the film focusses on what is happening in the holding cells. Gerard Butler (‘Greenland’) is good fun throughout the cell stand-off, and Toby Huss (‘The Rental’) is particularly kooky. Louder (‘Watchmen’) gives arguably the best performance though; she is commanding and assured as Young. There’s a lot of dialogue, which does help to raise a smile at times. ⠀ It’s a faster paced and more intense final act, as the story begins to unravel and comes to a head, with some brutal shootouts inside the precinct’s confined spaces. Happy belated cinemaSaturday y'all! I always love when an underrated actor whose work I enjoy snags a big role & skyrockets to fame. In this case it's Taraji P. Henson whose limelight is getting bigger thanks to the new show, Empire. But to me she's always the straight talkin, sharp shootin Sharice in Smokin' Aces (& the tough Detective Carter in Person of Interest). I love Guy Ritchie films and so must Joe Carnahan as he unapologetically apes the quick cuts, fast talkin, shoot 'em ups from across the pond. As per usual for cinemaSaturday it's a star-studded cast in a little known flick. As it's a gangster film the language is as blue as the sky and the violence is over the top. But it's a fun ride. See if you can spot a hillbilly punk Chris Pine, (who I've seen IRL and his eyes are that insanely blue), stay for his slab of man meat brother Kevin Durand.
