It’s already the final day of #EarthDayWithLotusTribe ~ tomorrow is Earth Day 🌏 It can be hard to eliminate all plastic from your life, but make a special effort for this Monday, and maybe it’ll become easier to do every day ☺️ There’re still a lot of things I can change, and sharing thoughts and tips this week has been helpful for me to learn and be inspired by others. Influencer… I find that word jarring, although I know of course it can be used for positive change. I guess it was just so strange to me, when my students were talking about what jobs they wanted to do, that one of them said they wanted to be an influencer 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, for day 6 of #EarthDayWithLotusTribe we are talking about who we can influence to be more eco-friendly. What is your ✈️👣? There are various online sites you can use to calculate your carbon footprint ~ traveling is just one of the contributors, with air travel being the worst. I haven’t actually flown since 2019, and only go on two staycations a year to a hotel reached by subway, but at some point in the future I will fly again, so it’s good to think of ways to try and make it carbon neutral. In your daily life, lots of the things we’ve already mentioned help decrease your carbon emissions (eating more plants, limiting plastic use, walking or cycling rather than driving, composting etc) but you can also choose to back carbon offset projects or companies for a greater impact. There are so many eco-friendly fabrics to choose from, it makes me so happy! To me, I feel my skin can breathe better in natural fabrics, which is especially important in warmer weather. Long day of work so just some stretching before bed. My right hip flexor is so tight that it’s restricting my movements in weighted squats so I chose to stretch it in a low lunge today! I've tried to eliminate as much single use plastic as I can in my life, but it's hard! I get veg boxes delivered which contain minimal plastic. I use reusable bags as much as possible, avoiding plastic carrier bags.
