Yesterday was another box ticked off the list, my first wig! Initially, the thought of loosing my hair was traumatising. I cried, had breakdowns and was absolutely devastated. But I realised, hair is hair, it will grow back, it’s not a permanent loss. Not only that, there are so many ways to make myself feel pretty again. I was referred to Tresses from the NHS, and I can’t thank them enough, they are incredible! The shop and everyone in it make you feel welcome and at ease. We decided to enjoy this shopping trip, try new styles and laugh. That’s the best way to look at this situation. Egg Freezing BTS I’m not sure what’s worse, my expression, my swollen belly or Bow the Bear 🤣🙈. But I am so glad that everything with this process is going very well! It’s crazy in a short time this process can change your body. 3 injections a day is a lot, but knowing I’m one step closer to the end is what’s getting me through it. I have the best nurse administrating these injections so safe to say I’m in good hands 🤣. Here is an update on @bahamaspotcakecharlie which we previously shared at his CHOP #1 graduation back in July 2023. Charlie’s lymphoma returned in January and we tried CHOP again. While CHOP can still work great the second time, it unfortunately did not for Charlie. Neither did the rescue chemotherapy called Lomustine. Charlie’s lymphoma was progressing fast, but his owners didn’t want to give up and we ordered Tanovea. Tanovea has been available in the US for many years now, but still not approved in Canada. We needed to get authorization for its use via an emergency drug order through Health Canada, which we got. Charlie responded very well to it and here he is at his third dose visit. In late February, life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Lymphoma. This diagnosis came after months of dealing with unexplained fatigue and a noticeable drop in my athletic performance — symptoms I had naively waved away. The turning point was discovering a small, painless lymph node on my neck, which nudged me to seek medical advice. This was the start of a personal journey into cancer treatment, and a wake-up call about my lifestyle. The realization forced me to confront the uncomfortable truth about my lifestyle; it was not nearly as healthy as I had convinced myself it was. Years of stress, extreme sports, lack of sleep and neglected check-ups had given cancer the perfect environment in which to grow. While direct links between stress and cancer remain scientifically elusive, the evidence is clear that stress can make us more susceptible to a myriad of diseases. Ignoring the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) signals from our bodies can have dire consequences. Yet, it’s crucial to understand that early detection can dramatically enhance treatment outcomes. Medical science has made incredible progress, consistently improving chances of survival. Sharing my story isn’t about my personal diagnosis; it’s about encouraging others to tune into and listen to their bodies, to not ignore warning signs, and to make health a top priority. Thanks to early detection, I’ve been able to treat cancer, and through raising awareness, I hope to afford others the same chance. I trust life - life made me notice the node in an early stage, giving me a chance to treat. And I trust myself. I can be NOTHING ELSE BUT GRATEFUL. 🙏🏼

A month ago yesterday (shortly after this snap was taken) they found the first lump in my neck. A month ago today there was another lump on the other side of my neck. That’s when we went to the vets. A month ago in 4 days time, I went from thinking I’m totally healthy, to being told I have lymphoma cancer 🦠😱 there is no cure for lymphoma, it’s in your white blood cells and travels to all the organs with lymph cells in them (glands, spleen, liver, even eyes!!). But chemo is helping prolong my life and keep the cancer at bay so that I enjoy every minute I can. Just wanted to give a small update about Marie. We knew that she has either Inflamed Bowel Disease (IBD) or Lymphoma and her symptoms has been treated well during the last 1 year. Though she hasn't been doing the best lately, her symptoms got worse, especially her nausea.🥺 2 month ago we had to go to hospital because she didn't eat at all. Her diagnosis had been made sure: it's severe Lyphoma. Therefore we started chemotherapy and she got a tube in her neck so we could feed her. Now she is getting better. Although she lost weight and sleeps a lot during the day, she can eat alone and sometimes she has the mood to play or go for a walk. 🐈⬛🚶 I'm grateful to be able to be at home full time, and spend as much time as I can with her. Easter sucked this year. Although I’m daily grateful for our risen King, our family was all separated and Pike felt awful. I saw everyone’s family pictures and yearned for our family to be together again. The last two years have not been our best. It’s time for my quarterly PET scan (results Thursday). Pike had a liver biopsy and a semi-permanent port placed in his chest yesterday. We will be port twinsies. Recovery was terrible and we were not prepared. He has felt nauseous and in pain since Saturday night. Pike walked a whole mile in the halls Saturday morning! He hasn’t done that since December. But, his good days don’t seem to stick. Pike is fighting several viruses - one with long term effects and one that can’t be treated in Dallas. Please pray these viruses get under control, the pain and nausea from the Graft vs Host Disease is lessened, and he can eat food soon. Piper update 4 - Piper has been sprung from the vets! Her numbers still aren’t great but we agreed that she would benefit from being at home. If she needs it, I can always take her back. The happiest chocolate boy 🤎🍪 UPDATE‼️: This Friday Chocolate Chip has most likely received his last round of chemo.❤️🩹 As strong as he has been, lymphoma has proven to be aggressive. With every treatment starting out as effective, to later not be has been heart breaking for all of us. He himself throughout this has been the strongest warrior giving kisses, throwing toys, picking on his sister, begging for treats, and cuddling with mom & dad. 🫶 Last year we were told he was declining so fast he would not make it and no place in Indiana would make room for him. The University of Illinois was the first place to consider us and call us back. We drove the literal next day and they had us in immediately. We beat it in the summer and by Christmas it showed up as a tumor. 💔 We were given this whole year to have our happy boy thanks to them and how well they have fought for him. We still have some decisions to make and trying to keep what happiness we can for as long as we can. Hi, my name is Daisy and I am fundraising for my sister Aiko who has been battling Cancer Lymphoma since 2022. She is only 34 years old and a mom of a sweet 4-year old girl who is the main reason behind her strong willingness to win this battle. Piper Update 3 - I got to spend a few hours with her today and take her for a walk. While she is much improved there are still things to be very concerned about. We have to hold chemo until she is well enough to do it. They took out her IV and her kidney numbers trended back in the wrong direction. The good news is that her red blood cells are at a good level, and her bone marrow is still sleepy. Fingers crossed that I get to bring her home tomorrow. She’s happy and eating, and was a good girl. I may only have a few weeks or a few months with her. *Piper update #2* her kidneys have improved, almost back to her normal and her red blood cell numbers are holding as well. All good news. However, her bone marrow is not yet making new red blood cells. This is not good news. I’m told that sometimes it takes a few days but it’s possible that the cancer may be affecting her bone marrow, so she is still at the vets for a few more days. She was happy to see me today and looked so good. Your prayers are working, please keep praying. Here I am in all my scruffy glory at one of my favourite coffee shops @theavocadoandcoffee ☕️🐶 Needless to say, the 3rd session of chemo has gone well! They told me that the cancer has gone into remission already and I have been able to stop the steroids 2 weeks earlier than planned 🥳 can you believe it?! It’s been great actually because I’m drinking less water and seem to have far more energy now! Update on Piper** The blood transfusion worked well and brought her numbers back up to normal. Her kidneys took a big hit and her kidney function was very poor yesterday. Those numbers have also improved today! However they are not back to normal. She even ate last night. We are not out of the woods so she will be spending another night at the Vets. I miss LILO’s heart hind paws & everything about her but want to believe that she’s happily whipping up biscuits in Heaven.
