Felicia and I spent Mayday hiking and enjoying nature together yesterday while I was sick with a lil head cold. I’m super scared of heights and she had me walking on skinny wooden pathways with shaky ass thin railings on the side of sheer cliff faces like I have some high-paying life insurance plan she’s trying to profit from (I do not). 😭😭😭😭 These memories we share together will be with me forever and give me something deeply meaningful to fight for. #ISurvived #BeaconRock #AndMyWife 😂

April 2024: I almost died, went home to Louisiana, finally got a job, wrecked my Jeep, Walle passed away, spent time with friends and family, made reconnections that were long overdue, grew a single tomato (hopefully more to come) taught myself how to code in Swift and deployed a private app, ate crawfish twice, held hands with my very best friend when I couldn’t sleep, painted a wall, cleaned out my garage, sat in a good friend’s bathtub and cried my eyes out, taught Ringo to chase the squirrels out of garden, and found me a fluffy Goosey dog. Life is still strange right now but everyday it’s getting a little better. 😃 Thank you my friends and my family for helping me get through this. #isurvived

Oh Monday, oh end of the month, oh life 🤣 My “work life” has been turned upside down since Feb 3rd… this “upgrade” / “expansion” we paid for has been nothing but headaches… between the random shut downs, lack of basic functioning steps, and on again, off again tech support it has been an all around nightmare! Sleep has been less than normal, as the few minutes / hours I normally sleep have been interrupted by random “I think if I do this I can fix this” thoughts. Ugh! But today, despite being behind and close to month end, I picked up the tiny human from school and “hung out”…. 🚸Children's Book Review 🚸 The I Survived series by Lauren Tarshis ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My son is rating this series a 4.5/5 stars. My 9-year-old son LOVES this series! I would say the books are about a grade 3 reading level. All these fictional books are based on historical events that have happened. Which I think is such an incredible idea. My son often reads these books then Googles the historical event and learns more about what happened. If you have a kid who loves a good adventure book, give the I Survived series a chance! Don't know what made me think of the time on August first, 2011 when this jeep came up the hill and around the curve on my side of the road in the rain on Tincup Pass. I tried to dodge him and my front tire hit the rock I'm pointing to in the second pic and the KLR 650 and I ended up ten feet down the cliff wedged against a pine tree. The driver stopped and helped me up to the road and with the help of several people who stopped we winched the bike back up. Amazingly neither the bike nor I was hurt. The KLR fired right up and we rode on down near the bottom of the pass and camped. I thought I might be sore the next morning but I felt fine. On February 15th, 2020, I died from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). A 100% blockage of the Lower Anterior Descending (LAD). This is otherwise known as a “Widow Maker,” because a minimal number of people survive the event. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), 12 to 25% survive. I was one of the fortunate few. Through an inconsistent path of recovery, I have learned to place my health as my number 1 daily priority. My hope is that you will learn through my experiences. This may help to prevent you from becoming on of the 75% to 88% who are less fortunate than I was. Check out my daily wellness posts for tips on how to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
