💜 MEET CLARE 💜 Of course, I couldn’t do introductions without talking about our amazing Clare 🥰 Clare joined me back in January last year and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her. She loves the classes just as much as I do and always puts in 110%. I can wholeheartedly say that she loves every minute spent with all our bloom babies and their parents. 👋A LITTLE ABOUT THE FACE BEHIND BLOOM BABY CLASSES WICKLOW & SOUTH DUBLIN👋 It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself and since we’re about to go through quite a big change, I thought I’d say hello! My name is Amy and I have been running Bloom Wicklow and South Dublin for almost 2 years now. I’m not sure where those 2 years have gone! I started out with just 6 classes running and now we have 20 classes a week and over 180 families bloomed with us last term! I have worked with young children for over 20 years, I have a degree in early childhood studies and am so passionate about early development and the importance of building strong attachments with the little ones in our lives. I absolutely adore seeing those little faces loving their time in class, being a part of their development and seeing their characters and confidence grow, week after week 💜 I equally love getting to know all our amazing bloom mama’s and seeing those precious bonding moments happen in class. Outside of Bloom I am a mama to my gorgeous, wild child, Bowie, who is now 3… and am expecting baby number 2 this summer 😬 I used to be quite the party girl but nowadays life is more about lots of family time and a good cup of tea and some tv me time…. That’s about as wild as it gets at the moment 🤣 I will be taking a little step back from teaching from now and will be busy prepping classes and dealing with the admin side of things until baby arrives. 🐝 BUSY BEES 🐝 6 months to around 14 months/or when baby is confidently walking. 6 months is a guideline age for moving up to Busy Bees. Every little one is different. Once baby begins to tire of lying on their back and prefers to be in a sitting/upright position, they are generally ready for the move! Busy Bees is a fun, lively musical baby development class encouraging fine and gross motor skills, body awareness, early language acquisition, rhythm and tempo! Building on the gentle activities of Caterpillar Club this session uses instruments, dancing, clicking sticks and more to bring on your baby’s all round development 🧠 💪🏼 During our theme time we have some seriously cute dress up and themed props for babies to explore. We love using our Kmart tray for a bunch of different things. Today we have used it to create a morning craft tray. Pencils, paddle pop sticks, play dough, bead threading on a pipe cleaner, google eyes and foam shape, pipe cleaner fish shapes. Paint tuff tray 🎨 ⚠️Warning this can get messy ⚠️ The children loved this one and was a super simple tuff tray to make Squirt lots of different colour paint on the tuff tray glitter, pom Poms whatever you fancy put some cling film over the top tape it down. The children can mix the paint with their hands, use the pom Poms with fingers to move around as fine motor skills. We added some colour mixing prompts that we made on widgit. Activity Box ideas - Bead threading. This one has been a favourite in our house lately and it was super cheap to make. We picked up our supplies from the dollar store and can be used for many other activities as well. All you need are: 🌙 A small container with a lid 🌙 Some coloured beads 🌙 Pipecleaners (alternative - string) You may even have some of these at home already! This activity is great for: Fine motor skills Concentration, thinking skills Pincher grip (helpful for learning to write later on) Sorting and matching All of this is done by simply threading the beads onto the pipe cleaner. 🐛 CATERPILLAR CLUB 🐛 6 weeks to around 6 Months A little info on our youngest group 🥰 . We recommend joining us from around 6 weeks as those wake windows are beginning to stretch by then and babies are more likely to stay awake for class. However, if you feel you’d like to join earlier you are very welcome and if baby nods off during class that’s totally fine. (Research says babies are still learning from music whilst asleep 😍 and you may be ready to get out and meet some other mama’s 💜 ) Caterpillar Club is a gentle yet stimulating introduction to our sensory classes. We use our music activities to work on all areas of development, whilst focussing on parent and baby bonding. During our theme time we enjoy a different theme each week with seriously cute dress up and props for the baba’s 😍 This always gives the mama’s lots of giggles and we get plenty of super cute pics!
