Family hike around Piliscsaba on a warm February day that felt like spring - even snowdrops appeared 🌿☀️ The smallest hiker chose the steeper path and came almost all the way up to the lookout tower by himself, I only carried him a bit on my shoulders. When I truly listen to convo’s with friends, family, and clients there are dark and hidden pains lurking beneath the smiling exterior. I see, feel, touch and, hear it all around me, in social and professional arenas. I can’t help but ask why so many embodied souls feel alone, hurt, fearful and, invisible in this world of abundance. In my home Nation, we are told we are living in a place of privilege, freedom and social support, but the inner being isn’t necessarily experiencing this - shown in their physical and mental health decline. In my daily world, women pregnant or trying to conceive are swimming upstream against a current of societal stress, expected to perform and succeed at the highest level. The rate of diabetes, rising BMI’s, autoimmune dis-eases, anxiety and depression, self-harm, small babies etc, result in interventions for the mode of delivery, levels rising before my eyes… We are in crisis. Our new generations arriving in states of distress - directly from the womb. The only way to conquer this is Change. First is the Awakening… with Awareness. Here’s where it is seen: • Increasing antenatal and postnatal depression rates. • Suicide - the greatest cause of death in the childbirth experience. • Birth trauma numbers, hugely associated with induction of labour, interventions and loss of self-autonomy. • Elevating rates of infertility. • Rising numbers of elective caesarian sections, many due to pre-labour many due to fear, emotional distress or trauma. Where is our privilege and well-being in such statistics? So much can be done to reverse these numbers and bring birth and conception into their natural states… and yes, use the knowledge and technological advancements to our fullest advantage when necessary. First heal this chaos with lifestyle, societal understanding, and changes. Then attend to those who really need the technology. Aaannd we’re back! 6 months away from baby sessions to let the weather warm up a little. It feels really good to be back and I’m excited to meet our new families, a little nervous too! This week it’s all about treasure baskets. There are lots of interesting textures for the babies to explore as well as our brand new woodland puppets thanks to @scopecharity. We also have our new mini mirrors and a giant floor one. I can’t wait to see the babies laying around the mirror watching the reflections of the trees and each other! The birds and rustling leaves are creating a lovely peacefully backdrop for our first woodland session and I can’t wait to get started.
