I spent some time this morning watching the many videos and looking at pictures I have posted to this account the past two years. I make these posts mostly for my husband who travels for work still. I like to remind him where all his hard work is taking us. We initially had planned to wait for his retirement to move here and start our little ranch. But anyone that really knows me well, knows that patience is not my best virtue. Years ago, I worked at an outpatient cancer center doing chemotherapy infusions. That period was such an eye opener for me. Cancer and other debilitating health conditions rob so many of the chance to live their dream life. Being a nurse taught me that this life is short and we only get one shot at it. Hopefully if you believe ,this is just a blink of time compared to eternal life. But until then, live like you’re dying .Don’t wait to do the things that make you happy. We are so grateful, thankful and happy to live this life we made. It’s not always easy and we are broke most of the time building this ranch lol, but wow what a privilege to live our dream. We took a little time off to enjoy cooler weather and a family reunion of sorts. Iris had a blast with her cousins and it was so good to see my family. I love NC and this is home BUT Vermont will always have a big piece of my heart. With that said, we came straight home and out to the garden. There is a certain amount of peace there, regardless of the unending amount of tasks. We work really hard to bring you fresh local food. Just blocks from Canada and the furthest East we could go on the Continental US, we absolutely loved every minute in Lubec! Spent a few hours in the local coffee shop, Narrow Escape. It was definitely worth the drive. It was nice to get away from the crowds of Bar Harbor and enjoy the less traveled roads. No moose, but great sunsets!!
