Moonscapes was such a special night ✨🌕✨ I normally make a post pretty soon after my work is exhibited somewhere, but I needed a few days to integrate the peace and healing I felt at this meditative gathering. It was incredibly meaningful to have five of my video artworks fit so seamlessly with this event. Honoring the full moon, being bathed in soothing sounds, taking sips of plant medicine, and receiving reiki magic. I was thrilled to receive a call from Vickie @beecavearts to let me know that a lovely couple had just purchased my painting “Flo: The Giving Tree” at the Impressions art show. This painting is special to me as it recorded Flo, an iconic leaning pecan tree which has provided much needed respite for visitors to Barton Springs pool. Before she was removed last year for safety reasons, we went to paint her one last time. SOUND UP!! 🔊🔊 Sharing some scenes from last Saturday's sonic performance by Colin McIntyre (@sculptureforge) as a part of our Body of Resonance series that respond to and activate our current show, Circular Body by Alejandra Almuelle. As an hour long sound piece, McIntyre engulfed the space with an experimental composition that vibrated throughout the gallery and deep within our core. McIntyre is a visual and sound artist with a primary focus on large scale sculpture and public art. He co-founded Dimension Gallery and founded The Resonant Lung, both Texas State Nonprofit arts organizations. McIntyre will be back next Saturday, May 4th for the second installation of Body of Resonance.
