Rocks and departed sea creatures on Lynmouth beach. 1. We found many bones from cuttlefish washed up after the high tide. 2. & 3. Well worn rocks near the cliffs. 4.& 6. Part of a spiny spidercrab, they cover the top of the shell's in algae ect which are attached to their little hooked spines as camouflage. 5. Tiny barnacles on a piece of polystyrene. 7. These cuties recently shipped off to their new home! 💛 I really loved bringing the magic of Tumble Leaf to life for my own kids years ago, and not only did I love getting to bring that magic to life for someone else, but I also took this as an opportunity to revisit my method for making Stick the caterpillar. New skill unlocked: puffball-making! I made myself some wooden “puffball makers”, and they worked like a charm. I’m so pleased with Stick’s redesign! 📍Llandudno, North Wales 🗓 May 2019 Llandudno was an unexpected delight. I basically went there just so me and Hector could go on the Great Orme Tramway. The actual resort was just an added stop that I'd not given much thought to. But I absolutely loved it! I strolled along the promenade, admiring the pier and sat enjoying the peace and tranquility of the Happy Valley Gardens ☺️. I just felt so at ease there, which took me by suprise. Shoutout to Barnacles fish & chip shop who could not only give me gluten-free fish and chips but were dog-friendly and gave Hector a sausage - which he was delighted by! Lovely welcoming staff there. The blue barnacle pieces & purple/yellow fabric are from Japan from when a friend lived there for some years & the big barnacle shape & drapery on the back are from my interior designer cousin. 😊 #sustainablefashion I love how the shoulder drape turned out - I was trying to get it to look like a dupata. 기존 불법 차량 바퀴 위에 걸어 잠그는 ‘부츠(Boots)’ 대신
차량의 앞 유리에 부착하는 형식을 사용하고 있습니다.

차량 앞 유리에 바나클을 부착하게 되면
운전자는 시야가 확보되지 않기 때문에 운전이 불가능한데요,
강제로 제거하려 하면 큰 경보음이 발생하기 때문에
운전자는 QR코드 스캔을 통해 185달러의 벌금을 지불하고
안전하게 제거한 다음 직접 지정된 주소로 반납해야 합니다.

바나클이 부츠보다 더욱 효과적으로 작용할지는 아직 미지수인데요,
벌써부터 몇몇 운전자들은 바나클이 차창에 붙어있는 채로
운전을 시도하다 붙잡히기도 했습니다.

FROM ARGYLL, WITH HOPE - Common Prawn, Brittlestars and English Channel Sea Urchin. As part of the @argyllhopespot snorkelling artist residency, I created a collage style animation - From Argyll with Hope - to share the dynamism and wonder I felt traversing through these incredible waters! Hope Spots are areas of the marine ecosystem that are particularly unique with regards to the abundance of biodiversity, the presence of endangered species, and just generally being a spot of hope for the health of the marine ecosystem. Probably my favourite little scene from the animation, I took inspiration from a barnacle cap on a langoustine that was brought ashore for some drawing studies - swipe to see! It got me fascinated by how organisms have symbiotic, or other types of relationships, and the precise placement of the barnacle had me imagining a gentleman of the sea! However, I've replaced the langoustine with a Common Prawn (although there is nothing common looking about it!) that was spotted swimming through seaweed and had him waving to a gaggle of brittlestars who strike me as rather laissez faire with their slinky movements - sadly I don't have any footage of either, but @scammelllouise has a wonderful shot of a particularly mobile brittlestar from a post on August 18th. Wonderful, amazing creatures. Swipe again to see some frame drawings of the wonderful prawn legs! From Argyll with Hope is currently on show at @thealchemyexperiment until 24th April in Glasgow alongside the other participating artists from the @argyllhopespot 2023 residency.
