April was a month of speaking engagements, walking for Inclusion with Best Buddies of California, a conference, speaking engagements, and a trip to the Boysenberry Festival. This month’s speaking engagements included the Ohio State University Guiding Eyes for the Blind puppy raising group, a class at California State University, and a class at San Francisco State University. The Best Buddies walk for Inclusion’s main mission was to raise funds for one-to-one friendships in all educational settings, employment, and the overall community. Direktorat Jenderal (Ditjen) Bea dan Cukai Kementerian Keuangan (Kemenkeu) telah menyerahkan alat belajar berupa keyboard braille milik SLB-A Pembina Tingkat Nasional Jakarta setelah tertahan sejak 2022. Keyboard braille sebanyak 20 buah itu merupakan hibah dari perusahaan OHFA Tech Korea Selatan, dan tertahan di gudang perusahaan jasa titipan (PJT) sejak masuk ke Indonesia pada 18 Desember 2022 lalu. Dirjen Bea Cukai Kemenkeu Askolani mengatakan persoalan ini pun telah diselesaikan. "Hari ini, setelah dilengkapi dokumen oleh SLB dan dari Dinas Pendidikan, kami tetapkan bahwa ini sesuai dengan ketentuan pemerintah untuk dibebaskan bea masuk," ujarnya dalam konferensi pers di Kantor DHL Express Indonesia, Tangerang, Senin (29/4/2024). Bea Cukai sempat menetapkan nilai barang tersebut sebesar Rp 361,03 juta dengan meminta pihak sekolah untuk membayar Pemberitahuan Impor Barang Khusus (PIBK) sebesar Rp 116 juta, serta membayar biaya penyimpanan gudang yang dihitung per hari. "Nah, tidak ada info (kalau hibah), yang kemudian masuk ke kita sebagai barang kiriman, sehingga kami tetap hitung sebagai barang kiriman maka ada tarif kepabeanannya," kata Askolani. Besarnya tarif yang dikenakan tersebut pada akhirnya membuat proses pengurusan 20 keyboard braille tidak dilanjutkan pada 2022 lalu. "Di 2023 barang itu diinfoin lagi kepada DHL untuk memperbaikkan address-nya, dokumennya, dan lain-lain. Tetapi komunikasi ini hanya sampai PJT, belum masuk ke ranah Bea Cukai. Kita hanya diinfokan di awal ini barang kiriman, maka kita infokan tarifnya sekian. Tapi dokumentasi dan segala macam ini masih sebatas di DHL yang memprosesnya dengan importirnya," jelas dia. Kemudian di 2024, persoalan ini mencuat di media sosial hingga menjadi sorotan publik. É fazendo o possível que o extraordinário acontece.” @carpinejar o Scrap Inclusivo dependeu de muitos fatores para acontecer. em plena pandemia, o mais desafiador era encontrar pessoas dispostas a colaborar e que acreditassem no meu projeto de conectar pessoas cegas com fotografias planas. parecia tão impossível, recebi muitos “nãos” mas preferi me agarrar aos “sims” para continuar. persistir me trouxe mais do que eu poderia imaginar… dessa jornada eu destaco 2 mulheres: @vivisantos_queiroz, professora, audiodescritora, trilheira, braillista e minha amiga. no primeiro contato ela me disse um não bem educado, que não tinha interesse. quase um mês depois me procurou e se dispôs a colaborar. sem ela não seria possível; ela me trouxe muitas vivências da pessoa cega que faz diferença em tudo que eu faço. @debragamelo é nutricionista, professora, sambista, foi presidente da @abdv.oficial por anos. ela me ensinou muito sobre a vida da pessoa cega, informações que não encontraria em outros lugares. De todos os projetos que fiz para elas durante a fase de desenvolvimento, ambas escolheram uma foto/projeto que gostaria de ter na parede e resolvi emoldurar como presente. Não tem como agradecer por algo que muda sua vida então prefiro acreditar que esses quadros possam ser um símbolo do que construímos juntas nessa jornada pela inclusão e promoção do Braille.
