The Great Escaper - ★★★ (2023) Directed by Oliver Parker 65/100 It is somewhat peculiar to dive into The Great Escaper, especially considering that it has become the last film project of Michael Caine, who recently announced his retirement from acting, and also marks the last performance of Glenda Jackson, who passed away in June of this year. The film shows a somewhat annoying leaning towards sentimentality, something I usually criticize, but in this case, Caine and Jackson, with unparalleled grace, endow the film with genuine value, making it a touching and enjoyable experience. Although it is not the kind of film that seeks to leave a lasting impression, it has added significance as a touching tribute to the end of the distinguished careers of both actors, because despite certain flaws, this fortunately turns out to be a good film. I’ll review a romantic comedy film title that I watched 🎥🎞 A Royal Night Out (2015) ロイヤル・ナイト 英国王女の秘密の外出 This movie is based on the true story of 19-year-old Queen Elizabeth who was unofficially allowed to go out, this drama depicts a one-night-only adventure in which she incognito and enjoyed her freedom. In the streets on Victory Day, the film shows a princess who comes into contact with the lives of ordinary people for the first time and becomes aware of her responsibilities as a ruler through numerous encounters. The plot of movie is about, on May 8, 1945, people were celebrating Victory Day in London, where the war with Germany had come to an end. Realizing that if she misses this opportunity, she will never get another chance, 19-year-old "Princess Elizabeth" begs her father in order to go outside, “King George VI”, to leave the palace. She manages to get permission, and goes to the hotel with her younger sister "Margaret" in stylish fashion. I thought about this film, the story of a queen hiding her identity as a queen and enjoying the night among the citizens was reminiscent of “Roman holidays”. this is equal to the modern version of that film. The staff could find well of actress who closely resembles an original Queen Elizabeth! It was a romantic love story that overcame the class system, but the story was very fast-moving, and it was so well made that I couldn't believe it was a biographical film. Even as a queen, I could see how difficult to behave neatly and no matter where she goes, and I was very impressed by the scene where she was able to enjoy the lifestyle of ordinary people.
