Story time: Eric bought me a FLF for Mother's Day back in 2020, I kept it thriving for two years and then in early Spring of 2022, I missed it's watering schedule ONCE and boom it dropped alllllllll it's leaves. My beautiful plant was now just a stick and the sadness was real. No one prepares you for when your plants go through adversity. ๐ However, instead of accepting defeat, I repotted the "stick" in fresh soil, fertilized it and was patient. A few months later, we went to Chicago and when we came back from that trip it had a new leaf! The 2nd photo is from today, two years later on May 1st 2024! I've been seeing alot of questions around FLF care and here are 3 things that has worked for me and my clients' Fiddle Leaf Figs: 1) Drier potting soil mix by adding cactus soil, perlite and bark for aeration. 2) Watering thoroughly and letting the soil dry out before next watering. 3) Consistency- Stop moving it around! If you have worm compost, that's all you need for fertilizer, nothing fancy. Everyone lives in a different climate and household so watering frequency will be a different cadence especially if tiny vs large plant. Let me know if you have any questions!
