Jest późny wieczór w małej, zabłoconej alejce, która wygląda tak, że w pojedynkę pewnie nigdy byśmy tam nie weszli. Kuba jeszcze poprawia nasze niebieskie światło, które oświetla całość, tworząc dodatkową atmosferę. Mi, po całym dniu nagrywek, zaczynają się same zamykać oczy. Jacek dopala właśnie przed kamerą piątego papierosa z rzędu, wypluwając przy tym prawie swoje płuca. W tle Kacper wspina się po mało stabilnej kracie, z wiadrem w ręku, żeby przymocować je na lampkę przed budynkiem, która psuje całkowicie wizję Mateusza. 'Comme les anges déchus de la Planète Saint-Michel' reste à ce jour le documentaire le plus puissant et violent qu'il m'ait été donné de voir. Savoir que tout se passe dans des quartiers de Paris dans lequel j'ai beaucoup traîné dans ma vie, apporte forcément un attachement particulier. Cette publication sert aussi de mise à jour pour moi, car depuis quelques années, je suis en contact avec l'une des têtes présentes dans ce documentaire. À ceux qui avait lu cette histoire personnelle à l'époque, sachez aujourd'hui que Flavio va bien, il vit quelque part en Europe avec sa famille. C'est malheureusement tout ce que je peux partager en public ici sur sa personne. Pour en revenir à ce documentaire, il m'arrive de le regarder au moins une fois par an. Et non, je n'en ai toujours pas admis certaines séquences. • {2/3} D'abord pensé pour être le simple suivi de la construction de grands complexes immobiliers du 11ème arrondissement, le réalisateur Jean Schmidt prendra un tournant auquel il ne s'attendait pas pour construire son documentaire. Les constructions sont bloquées par les habitants du quartier, fait à la fois de personnes du troisième âge, et de cas sociaux bien particuliers. Nous avons donc pêle-mêle, Alain et Denis, les jumeaux etheroinomanes ("la drogue du pauvre") ; France et Flavio qui s'aiment et tentent comme ils peuvent de ne jamais replonger dans la dope ; Mourad, ayant quasiment tout perdu de sa jeune vie et devenant peu à peu aveugle à la suite d'une chute sur un chantier ; Richard, caricaturiste de la rue ne vivant que pour la haine de son propre père, ou encore Patrice le saltimbanque arpentant les pavés Beaubourg avec une amie chanteuse visiblement sous substance et très énervée par la vie.
