On July 5, 1996, in Edinburgh, Scotland, a scientific miracle happened. A sheep was born not from a mother but from cloned DNA. Her name was Dolly, and her birth marked a turning point in cloning science. Turning point may be putting it lightly. Her presence caused an explosion in the world. Fear of scientific abuse and religious blasphemy collided with awe and possibility - what could cloning do for society? What couldn’t it do? What should science do with cloning? This is the culmination of the investment NASA & US taxpayers put into the Commercial Crew Program. Two human-rated spacecraft were given contracts to test & evenutally fly human beings to the ISS. SpaceX Crew Dragon already flies to the ISS regularly with Astronauts & supplies, and Boeing’s Starliner is ready to have its first crewed mission! It’s been a long road, and much controversy over the years - even beginning at the start of Commercial Crew when only two companies were chosen there was a rift that unfolded in the space industry. I share my thoughts on the whole endeavor in the hopes that we can learn something and be better off for the future. Straatfotografie En terwijl ik de blaadjes aan de bomen sinds lange tijd weer eens aan het fotograferen was, sprak deze jongen me aan. Of ik een foto van hem wilde maken. Met mijn camera. Natuurlijk wilde ik dat wel. Ik denk al langer na over portret- of straatfotografie en wat ik daarvoor nodig zou hebben. Want zomaar iemand aanspreken op straat is toch handiger als je wat gegevens uit kunt wisselen of een pagina met werk kunt laten zien. Hoe dan ook, deze jongen wilde graag voor me poseren. Het werd me gewoon in de schoot geworpen vandaag. Mooier kan niet. Zijn naam was Adam zei hij. Hij sprak wat gebrekkig Nederlands en ik schoot onwennig wat plaatjes. Hij wilde ze ook even zien. Vervolgens vroeg hij ook om mijn telefoonnummer en of ik met hem op de foto wilde, maar dat heb ik vriendelijk geweigerd. Ik heb 'm nog wel met zijn eigen mobiel gefotografeerd, zodat ie een mooie foto van zichzelf heeft, met op de achtergrond de witte villa van Sonsbeek. En toch jammer dan, dat ik hem het eindresultaat niet kan laten zien. Echt een prachtig hoofd, model bijna. Nu zie ik het pas echt. Dank je wel Adam! ТЫ МОЖЕШЬ ОСТАВАТЬСЯ ДОБРЫМ, НО ПРИ ЭТОМ?! ®️ С заботой относиться к своему времени и личному пространству, устанавливая те самые границы. ▫️ Уважать свое мнение и и придерживаться своей точки зрения. ▫️ Выбирать свое персональное окружение, в котором по твоему мнению есть все необходимое, либо для роста, либо для комфорта. ▫️ Оставаться честным, даже если вокруг все говорит об обратном. ▫️ Говорить “НЕТ”, даже если не хочется и человек тебе вроде не безразличен, но ситуация должна быть подведена чертой твоего личного ответа. ▫️ Допускать ошибки и учиться на них, биться головой, носом, чем угодно. Даже опытные люди ошибаются, вопрос только в одном, как ты воспользуешься этим опытом. ▫️ Придерживаться своего плана, достигать цели и конечно реализовывать личные мечты. ▫️ Время идет, быть реалистом, не подстраиваясь под ситуации и людей, самое верное решение, либо так и будешь “догонять”. ▫️ Быть носорогом тоже полезно, наблюдать за кислыми “минами” людей как минимум забавно, а те, кто еще с высоко поднятой головой уверенны в своей жизненной позиции, это прям комбо. ▫️ Не благодарите, ванильки 🫡

🤩 "Wir haben hier von der ersten Minute unseres Dienstes an gemerkt, dass wir gebraucht werden. In der Berufsschulstufe können wir so viel bewegen, hier haben wir uns sofort wohlgefühlt", sagen Lisa und Paul. Um so weniger verstehen sie, dass es eventuell keine Nachfolger*innen mehr für sie geben wird. Schon dieses Jahr wollte der Bundestag die Freiwilligendienststellen kürzen, das wurde kurzfristig zurückgenommen. Nun stehen aber Kürzungen für 2025 im Raum. Und da würde Vieles in der Paulinenpflege schmerzlich vermisst werden: "Wir können hier auf die unterschiedlichste Art unterstützen - egal ob durch Begleitung von schwächeren Schülern im Unterricht oder durch Einzelaktionen im lebenspraktischen Bereich wie Einkaufstraining", erzählen die zwei Bufdis über ihren Arbeitsalltag. "Auch bei einzelnen Arbeitsschritten der Jugendlichen können wir mehr Selbständigkeit ermöglichen - bei anspruchsvollen Aufgaben wie Arbeiten an der Ständerbohrmaschine oder am Herd in der Küche können wir kurz mal eingreifen und dann arbeiten die Schüler wieder selbständig weiter. Das gibt Ihnen ein wichtiges Selbstwertgefühl denn sie haben etwas geschafft, das ohne eine kleine Korrektur nicht möglich gewesen wäre", freuen sich Lisa und Paul. Der #Freiwilligendienst gibt auch ihnen wichtige Freiräume: "Wir haben eine kleine Schulbibliothek eingerichtet. Hier lernen die Schüler, wie das Ausleihen von Büchern funktioniert. Dazu haben wir ausgemusterte Bücher von der Stadtbibliothek und einer Buchhandlung organisiert". Auch für Lisa und Paul selbst ist der Freiwilligendienst total bereichernd: "Wir wollten nicht gleich nach der Schule losstudieren, sondern uns erst noch orientieren und etwas Sinnvolles machen - die Bufdi-Zeit ist für uns unbezahlbar wichtig."
