Am Hof des Herzogs Johann Casimirs lebte noch ein ganz anderer Künstler: der Hofzwerg Ruppert. Kleinwüchsige Menschen dienten an den Höfen Europas in der Zeit um 1600 der Belustigung und Zerstreuung. Dennoch muss Ruppert am Coburger Hof eine besondere Rolle gespielt haben, denn ein solcher voll funktionsfähiger Feldharnisch war äußerst kostspielig. Ein Inventar der Coburger Harnischkammer aus dem Jahr 1601 benennt dieser Feldharnisch mit: „1 Klein Blank Harnischlein Uff den Zwerg Ruppert geschlagen“. Der knapp ein Meter hohe Feldharnisch besteht aus 200 miteinander verbundenen Eisenteilen. Als Verzierungen dienen die mit Messing überkappten Nieten sowie die Messingrosetten an den Befestigungen der Riemen und deren Schnallen. The Takom Blitz 1/35 Stug III F8 early is now completed. I absolutely enjoyed this build. I’ve added extra bits of stowage from value gear. The whole model was painted using Vallejo paints. Panzerkampfwagen Panzer IV Ausf.D , part of the @tankmuseum collection. The Panzer IV was the longest serving tank in the Wermacht, starting in the Polish invasion of 1939 and lasting until the final throes of the Reich in the ruined streets of Berlin in 1945. Over the course of the war, it was upgraded with more potent weapon and armor, taking a chassis that was designed in the interwar years to its very limit. Even after the war, this old tank still had some fight in it, as some purchased by Syria (from France) fought against israeli Sherman tanks in the Six Day War. Not making armor based on an extant piece is great. as I don't have to spend hours comparing it to a specific piece. On the other hand, one has to be careful not to overdo it and make it look period. Whether I succeeded or not, I'll let you judge. 🙂 The breastplate is in the German style of the second half of the 15th century, and the material is C55, not hardened yet. Nedělat věci podle konkrétního originálu je na jednu stranu super, protože nemusím hodiny porovnávat konkrétní kus se svým výrobkem. Na druhou stranu, si člověk musí dávat pozor, aby to nepřehnal a pořád to vypadalo dobově. Well, it seems that it is the Year of the Tiger rather than Year of the Dragon! Like many others I fell for the “Tiger Curse” and got myself one of the Tiger 1 Big Boxes from Takom and just wow, I definitely do not regret it! And I thought that 1/35 Tiger wheels needed a lot of sanding and work! All jokes aside, so far the Tiger id going together like a dream! I went ahead and handled the tracks and they were definitely not near as bad as I would have feared, dare I say they actually were pretty easy all things considered. ‘HENRY’ ALMAIN RIVET BREASTPLATE - £990 A rough polished version of our ‘Henry’ almain rivet. This is based on the original at Winchester (https://collections.hampshireculture.org.uk/object/almain-rivet-c-1520-comprising-globose-breastplate-lamed-fauld-backplate-two-lower-slotted). We’ve made adjustments to make this wearable without a backplate. The breast is 2mm mild steel and everything else is 1.6mm. Accurate enough for reenactment, strong enough for HEMA, light enough for LARP. The item in the photo is one we made for another customer. The one for sale is awaiting a polish the same as this. The arms are not included in the price but can be sold separately. You can see in the photos how we’ve kept the finish authentic with deep fouling, hammer and file marks and the grain of the grind. We’ll have more of these coming later this year so, if you miss out on this one, you can pre-order one at the same early bird price (would usually be £1,200). This one is a Large size but has been worn but people with a 40” chest up to 50”. The Kanonenjagdpanzer was a tank destroyer vehile armed with a 90mm designed in a fashion similar to the World War 2 german tank destroyers like the Jagdpanzer IV. Eventually, due to the prevalence of ATGMs, many were converted into ATGM vehicles called "Jaguar 2", armed with a TOW anti-tank missile.
