Well my overlocker has been playing up! I’ve had to fiddle with this dial and that dial and I’ve had enough of it! Overlockers are notoriously annoying like that! Aaaand another outfit for Ro! I made the hareem pants a little while ago but was waiting for the right fabric to make the top - which I found in the form of an old grey top I no longer wear! The sleeves on the top are too long and as the grey top was old and quite thin, one of the snaps is pulling through at the top. (Luckily as the jersey is stretchy, I should get away with just stitching up the poppered opening. The hareems are a tiny bit snug at the ankle - they fit fine now but Ro will probably outgrow them quickly. Other than that, I’m really pleased. Deaf Awareness Week 2024 I made this reversible Maple Romper for my daughter to wear on the day she had her Cochlear Implants activated just under 2 weeks ago. It has the internationally recognised sign for "I Love You" printed on it 🤟 Did you know 90% of Deaf Children are born to hearing parents with little or no experience of Deafness? That was us. Over the last 4 years, Astrid had gone from Unilateral Deafness (one ear) to Bilateral (both ears). From wearing no hearing aids to the most powerful and then cochlear implants. We've had to fight for her to receive the support she needs and only began learning Sign Language in September last year. Throughout it all, she reminded us how strong and resilient she is, and although it's different to other children, she always shows us how much she loves us and we love her 💖 We donated a small portion of sales in this fabric and one other design a few weeks ago to @ndcs_uk and the total came to £10. I wish it could be more being a charity so close to my heart but anything is better than nothing!
