Have you ever had sushi served to you in a boat?! Lily has all the cucumber sushi she could dream of 😂 G treated us to dinner at @thesushico after we did Dopamine Land (it’s just opposite it in South Kensington). Food was 10/10 - I can’t remember the names of the dishes, but it was all so delicious!! 🤤 Also the kids nabbed my phone to take photos of the panda in the tree 😂 Do you like sushi? Phonics Before 4 Series #babytoddlerlanguageseries #phonicsbefore4 What next after introducing the sound box ? 🎁 💾Save this post for future reference Here’s where having the knowledge of the concrete to abstract representation of things will help 🙌 Step 1:👶 For a very young child, start with concrete items (real objects or replica of objects) Step 2: 🕶️ Once they can identify the objects (how do we know? ask them, “show me the sunglasses”) move on to photos. 🤳You can take photos on your phone and print them out for the 2nd level of sounding out the items. Step 3 (abstract) 🖨️ Print out pictures of the sound objects and go through the words and sounds with them. 🔤Remember the objective is the letter sound that you’re introducing! Cuteness overload! 😍 Born just a day apart, looking at our precious babies growing up so closely together reminds me so much of my very own twin brothers when they were growing up as babies. I am so thankful to get to experience this again with our darlings Baby M11 and baby niece. 🙇♀️
Since the miscarriage of our sweet baby girl, the anthem of this season has been one of learning to declare, “and, yet.” 🤍 The grief still weighs heavy on our hearts since God called her home, “and yet,” we‘ve experienced the nearness of God like never before (Psalm 34:18). The questions still loom in our minds as we cry out for clarity and ask the Lord why, “and yet,” we trust in the faithfulness of God who keeps his promises, all the more (Joshua 21:45). The dreams still feel lost and the despair still sets in, “and yet,” we have hope in the good plans of the Lord, beyond what we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). As I look at these photos, tears stream down my face, because in this very moment, our sweet girl was still in my belly, just days before the Lord called her home. “And yet,” our hearts are filled with hope as God reminds us of who he is in the midst of our story, writing the pages that we have yet to see (Hebrews 10:23). Over and over, as we grieve through the loss of Grace, as we hold the tension of this hurting, broken world, the constant truth that remains in the midst of our story is the promise of “and, yet,” that continues to draw us back to the Lord. And as we look to Jesus, it is he who cried the greatest “and, yet” of all, as he prayed in the garden, crying out to the Father to remove the cup of suffering, yet took on every ounce of our sin on that cross, because of the great love he had for us. “And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” (Mark 14:36). I don’t know the season you are walking through, the heartache, grief or loss of your story, but I’m praying that you receive the sweet invitation declare “any, yet” in the midst of this present suffering or trial. While we hold the weight of all that is broken of this side of heaven, our greatest “and, yet” is the hope of heaven that is to come, may we cling to this everlasting promise all the more (Revelation 21:1-5).
There’s lots of new faces around here, so I wanted to introduce myself to all of you! 🤍 I’m Claire, a wife and mama, with a love for all things sourdough, motherhood, homeschool and homemaking. We live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in a little house in the city, and seek to fill our days with beauty, intention and the simple joys of home. Whether it’s in the gift of homeschool with my sweet boy, a beautiful loaf of sourdough bread or an afternoon spent in the sunshine while tending to the garden, I believe that there is an invitation to abundance within every moment of our lives. As a writer, photographer and blogger, my heart is to share thoughtful words, beautiful images and lovely recipes that I hope serve as an invitation for the hearts of mothers and homemakers to take hold of the beauty and abundance woven into every moment. I am deeply in love with Jesus, believe in the power of prayer and am simply in awe of his goodness, faithfulness and abundant grace poured out over every corner of my life.
