Happy chooseday! Before I got out of bed I meditated which helps my spiritual health. For my social health I met and talked with a friend 🫂 We met at Mann's Cafe Bar in Antrim Castle Gardens. On the way in I had to stop to take a photo of the primroses 🌼 they are so pretty and fill me with lovely memories, which helped my emotional health. For my physical health, I dipped in the plunge pool🥶 and I chose to make up the protein rich muesli for the week - already looking forward to breakfast😋 Tonight I will continue my Greek language lessons helping my intellectual health. The majority of physical injuries I see are rooted in emotional and intellectual restriction. When I assess a client with chronic back pain, I look at how they move in all the possible directions. Often when I link these specific movements with the daily activities they are avoiding, we find the reason behind the continuing pain. Your body needs movement. But if you are scared to move or feel fragile you will be making decisions every day that stop you from moving in your fullest potential. Move it or lose it. I reintroduce safe movement to your spine that will allow you to become more comfortable with the idea of lifting and bending. Carrying and playing sport. Whatever it is that lights you up and that you are missing. A purely physical rehabilitation will not give you that. Your nervous system needs to regulate. Your mind begins to accept a new reality of being well. My approach looks at all your lifestyle factors and finds the solution that is right for you. Healthy Living Series- Part One 🌸 In the weeks to come, I plan to post a series on the topic- what does healthy living look like for you (and me)? I hope you will find it to be very thought provoking as it is definitely a topic that I have taken time to ponder on and write about from my heart. My niche is healthy living, and these are the tenets I feel are the most important and upon which I focus: 🌸 Spiritual health 🌸 Mental health 🌸 Physical health 🌸 Social health 🌸 Environmental health 🌸 Intellectual health I have been on and off social media several times as it is sometimes hard to focus on the good (pictures of loved ones and prayers) and not focus on the bad (drama, anxiety, etc.). But, I think the pros can outweigh the cons when everything is done with a purpose. Community is extremely important. Living each day with intention provides a healthy outlook on life and impacts the community around you. I try to make every interaction as genuine as I can as I’m not a fake person. I am a real and honest person, and I try to see the good in others. All that I share ultimately has a purpose for healthy living. This is how I try to live a healthy life, which may look different from how others strive to do so. That is ok because we can all learn from each other! When I was on social media before, my handle was @catholiccowgirl . That name truly encompasses who I am, but I’ve stuck with @loveleighbird because it’s a cute play on words with my name that most who know me in real life associate with me. 🥰 Either way, the is ME!
