(Yay!!) First off, I am California- raised and Colorado planted for the last almost 5 years!! God called me to Colorado after graduating from Biola University with a B.A in Christian Ministry (one may think, “what do you do with a degree like that?” And I would say “I don’t know”. So I just obeyed God to accept (for at the time - just a 9-month long church internship, so I thought 💭 ha!) Of course, that thing, Corona, happened and turned my life upside down, like most of us. But it was the best thing that ever happened to me, to say the least!! I started entrepreneurial pursuits because I knew that I was called beyond the 4 walls of Church (this is just my story, nothing wrong with how others’ move). Fast forward for the last 3 1/2 years, I’ve been building myself on basic principles of success with mentorship that taught me a lot in my personal walk with God and the type of life He’s planned me to live since the beginning. It’s been a journey of learning who’s for me and not, and what I am made of facing rejection. However, plot twist, the last 6 months- 1 year, I have faced some of the most challenging events in my life (i.e death of loved one and loss) while healing deeper into those wounds that you don’t want to talk about and didn’t think was still there. One week from today, we celebrate the last three and a half years of my doctoral life. I am a first-generation college graduate who grew up in rural, small town Texas (in the middle of nowhere, but exactly where I needed it to be). When I was a toddler the nuns at my daycare complained to my mum that I was too happy and always singing. In middle school, a teacher told me to quit smiling too much because no one could be so happy all the time. Who would have thought that me studying abroad in Cuzco, Peru 🇵🇪 to travel overseas to a Spanish Speaking Country and live with a Spanish speaking host mom…. I would be sowing a SEED FIVE YEARS LATER INTO MY NOW!!!! Don’t you know people and family was against this? This was not EASY FOR ME OR THEM. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME RIDING ON AN AIRPLANE and I rode on six. It was my first time out of the country and I went to two countries. It was my first time away from my son alone and no one traveling with ME!!! What I’m saying is be a extremist for Jesus Christ and get your life!!! What Would Kasey Wear Wednesday is a sparkling feast of color and sequins and stones. One of the things I love doing is figuring out how something can work. So when I saw this sequined jacket in the children’s department at Target, I knew it had to live in my closet :-). So while the sleeves are super short I just pull them up!! No real story on the tank and jeans, the @betseyjohnson shoes, however, are part of THE story. Fabulous…orange…with a crystal heel. I never really go anywhere so when I went to the hair salon, I knew I could dress up!! To be honest, I wasn’t sure I should put this post out considering the state of things in The Ukraine, but the colors bring me such joy, it puts me into my center and from this place I am my strongest self.
