I’m writing this in my stained sweatshirt that I’ve worn for three days straight; these last few weeks have been rough. Like rough. Don’t let any Instagram mother fool you into thinking navigating newborn life is without challenges. Even if they’ve done this before. This postpartum spiral has me flailing around wondering if I’ve been doing good enough while sleep deprivation has been trying to rob me of my blissful moments during this phase of motherhood. I’ve savored and I’ve soaked and I’ve struggled and in just one night, things have taken a turn and it’s come down to something as simple as changing his bottle. Lovely time away for the first time as a family of four 🥰 Unfortunately Robyn’s been poorly with a viral infection I think, however it did give us the perfect excuse to not do anything at all and have a really chilled out couple of days which was very much needed for us all 🙌🏼 especially as Robyn’s been super restless at night because of her coughing! As I sat here under this beautiful blossom tree, looking across a Cotswolds graveyard, at stones depicting long lost lives which have departed over the centuries, and the stories each individual once told. . I started thinking about this beautiful tree. A true constant, a true nature companion. Every year in its cycle, it blooms, flourishes, turns crisp, and becomes bare through the years seasons. Decades pass and generations of families slowly join the current residents, and yet still this delicate beauty, continues its lifecycle long after family stories fade in time. . Last year, I made the very difficult decision to close my free Facebook Group: The Successful Ladies Lounge While this was a necessary and important business decision, it was a hard one to make. I started the Facebook group when I launched my business 4 years ago, and over the years, the group grew with me and with my business. But along the way, it started to feel less and less in alignment with my business goals and where my business was headed. I had shown up every day inside the group for 4 years, gave it my all and much more…but at some point, I knew we had to part ways. This is not the only time I’ve had to make a difficult decision in business, but it hurt more than most because of the amazing connections inside the group. Why do I share this? Because this was one of those reminders that what got you to where you are right now in your business won’t get you to the next level. Are there difficult decisions, conversations and changes you’re avoiding? What is it costing your business. This week, I invite you to put on your big girl pants, wear your CEO hat and think about the next-level you know you want. Not the one everyone has, or the one everyone says you need to get to. As a 7 year old, she chose to surrender her life in obedience to the calling of God by saying “Yes I give you my life”. The journey of a Believer isn’t always simple or easy. For some, it is more challenging than others. God is showing her to trust Him in the crazy, unexpected ways as she learns to presses in and look up.
