I’ve seen so many people raving over this that I was exciting when my book club picked it for our next read. I went into it basically blind, which is think is the best approach to really soak up and experience the story with no expectations. We’re getting lies, secret missions, a dangerous boss, threats around every corner, and more. I loved how much smarter than me our heroine was.😅 I was always one step behind her and didn’t really understand why she was doing certain things until she told me why. And then I would think…this girl is an icon!! I did sus out the two major reveals in the story but that could just be because I read so many thrillers that I know the schemes… THIS is the book to add to your life. 😎

BOKCIRKEL Efter SmåLit förrförra helgen träffades vi i bokcirkeln. Vi åt tapas, drack gott och bokcirklade om Blott en dag av Therese Slettengren. En riktigt bra bok var vi alla överens om. Trots att vi var helt eniga fanns det mycket att diskutera. Nora växer upp med sin mamma och pappa på 60-talet. Det är en relativt lycklig uppväxt, tror Nora i alla fall och hon älskar verkligen sin pappa. Hon har några plågoandar i skolan och en dag sker ett hemskt överfall där Nora blir misshandlad. Hennes pappa tar på sig att gå hem till den pojke, som var huvudansvarig för det, och hans mamma. På något sätt får hennes pappa dem att flytta från orten. Men lögner och hemligheter fortsätter att förfölja Nora genom hela hennes liv. När hennes vuxna dotter börjar nysta i mammans liv kommer mycket fram i ljuset som varit begravt i många år. En bok som verkligen sög in mig direkt. Vi hamnar rakt in i handlingen och en oroskänsla hänger över de första kapitlen, när Nora försöker undvika sina plågoandar. Sedan eskalerar det hela väldigt fort och jag sitter och förfäras både över det Nora är med om, men också hur hon hanterar det. Det är väldigt intressant att läsa om hur familjehemligheter påverkar så många fler än de som är direkt inblandade i dem. Dessutom blir det så tydligt hur det ända från Noras pappa på sätt och vis har gått i arv att man inte tar tag i saker och sopar dem under mattan, det blir ett beteende som ärvs vidare genom generationer. Det var en väldigt bra bok att bokcirkla om. Och andra halvåret av 2023 juli-december bjöd på fler härliga kulturupplevelser. 💖 Juli inleddes med em mysig vecka i Stockholm med äldsta sonen och resans höjdpunkt var konserten med Elton John som vi väntat på att se i tre år. Nu äntligen fick vi uppleva den och vi fick se hans allra sista konsert någonsin - vilken grand finale! Så bra! 🎶 Augusti inleddes med Deckarvandring i Norrköping i Jana Berzelius fotspår tillsammans med @emelieschepp och i Norrköping blev vi också bjudna på musikalpremiär av feelgoodmusikalen ”Waitress”. I augusti blev det också en finfin roadtrip runt Skåne. Premiärbesök i Höllviken på en härlig releasefest för @lindastahl_writer ”Ett enda skott” och sedan besök bl.a. i Ystad och Kristianstad som avslutades med en ny upplevelse i Wanås Konstpark. Vilken härlig avslutning på sommaren! ☀️ Bokmässan i september – fyra underbara dagar i bokvimlet med prinsbesök, två räkmackeluncher på Heaven 23, härligt häng med bokälskare, fina samtal, inspiration och en massa böcker med hem i resväskan. 📚 I oktober var det Bokträff Jönköpings @boktraff_jkpg andra träff på året. Alltid lika kul att arrangera och lyssna på fina författare som berättar om sina resor, prata och byta böcker med bokvänner och njuta av godsaker på vårt bokhotell. 📚🥂 I november blev det åter igen en helg i Stockholm med premiärbesök på Millesgården, två musikaler – Moulin Rouge och Änglagård – besök på Hallwyska och Banksyutställningen, NK:s julskyltning, ”Min fantastiska väninna” på Stadsteatern och ett besök i Gamla Stans bokhandel. 📚🎭🎶 December inleddes med en roadtrip med @lisamargar3ta och @susshornell till läsretreat i ett vackert Sigtuna i vinterskrud. Mycket läsning, träff med fina bokvänner, årets första julbord och julmarknad. Vilken härlig helg! Slutet på året fick jag också moderera två samtal på Asecs Book Club med Christina Larsson, Sanna Lund, Carina Nunstedt, Cecilia Andersson och Thomas Bergholtz. Frida Boisen besökte Jönköping, @kickis_bokvarld och jag var på julmarknad i Eksjö.
