✨🪴So I’ve been wanting to do more tours because I love seeing what’s behind the scenes. Well I started with the Behind the Seeds tour at #epcot, because I love the Living with the Land ride and you can’t beat the price point for that one. I actually have a black thumb but because I’m an inquisitive person with a thirst for knowledge I was intrigued about the opportunity to learn about something new. I absolutely loved it!! The whole tour was packed with so much info and getting to see the greenhouses and how they operate behind the scenes was incredible!! I’ll never forget the first time I saw Hydroponics in action at Disney World’s EPCOT! Living with the Land is a classic dark ride where are you board a boat and go on a journey of understanding the history of agriculture and possibly the future. It’s one of those original Disney rides that leaves you feeling inspired and wanting more! And that’s where my love of hydroponics began. I was obsessed! It’s been 20 years since I went on that boat ride and today I am hanging up a piece of artwork in my studio that reminds me of where I was first inspired with the idea that we didn’t have to grow our food in a garden outside and deal with bad weather, bugs, rodents and other critters constantly eating our food! Living with the Land is one of our favorite low key rides & Emma is always down for a boat ride. The other great thing about it is Sunshine Seasons is right in the same pavilion. I think it is the easiest place to eat with kids because it has so many options all day long!

Throwback to our Disney trip. We finally took the Behind the Seeds tour at The Land in Epcot and it did not disappoint. . We found out every plant they grow (except for one single fern) has at least one edible part. I wish I remembered the amount of food they provide to the restaurants every year because it was staggering. So much comes from that greenhouse. We even got to eat a cucumber that was picked an hour before we got there. . For an added bonus, we got to wave at the people riding on the Living With The Land ride.. . We also found out that if you eat fish, tilapia is one of the best choices you can make from a sustainability perspective. They gain a pound of weight for every pound of food they eat... . Disney must do: Have you ever been on the Living With the Land boat ride at Epcot? If you have, then I’m sure you have wondered what goes on behind the scenes. Take the Behind the Seeds (haha) walking tour. Your guide will take you through four greenhouses and the fish farm that you are able to see on the ride. Learn Disney gardening secrets including how Mickey Mouse shaped vegetables are born. I have only taken the tour once, but I can’t wait to take it again. As an amateur gardener, I found their techniques very interesting, but it is fun for all people. It’s a one hour tour. Children’s tickets cost $20, and adult tickets cost $25.
