This girl is obsessed with two things…. Minnie Mouse and all things basketball. I don’t know another 2 year old who will have the attention span to sit and watch basketball for 30 mins straight but here we are. I knew we needed to combine them for her “ 🏀H TWO-dles” themed birthday! When we went to Disney over Spring Break I even took her ball to have Minnie and Mickey autograph it! Unfortunately she was sick for her actual birthday last week so we had to push the celebration and pictures to this week! While Jamey was at baseball practice, we headed to the basketball court at the same park here in Sneads Ferry. She was more concerned about watching a family play than getting her picture taken but I bribed her with M&Ms and got a couple of good pics to celebrate!

Have you ever been confused by the dates on your photos? Do they all look wrong? Dates on photos are super confusing. There are so many different date fields and names for dates: Modified, created, capture date, date taken, date time original, content created are all different names of the dates on your photos. The one we are most concerned with is the actual time that the shutter was pressed - that is the capture date (which can also be known as Date Taken, Date Time Original, Contect Created Date). Created Date and Modified Date are dates that pertain to the life of your photo on your device and are easily changed by your computer without your consent. So these are not the ones to rely on. They can be right but they also are totally dependent on your device. So what is the solution for finding the right date and sorting your photos by that date? Use some photo organising software! Software like Lightroom Classic can 99% of the time find that all important capture date and sort your photos correctly even if you can't easily see it. This is especially important for Apple users because Apple likes to hide the actual date the photo was taken and will just show you the Created and Modified date in Finder. It is super important to understand what dates you are looking at when you start organising your photo mess. I’ve always taken pictures of my kids in everyday moments so that I can take return trips there whenever I want, especially as I get older and memories aren’t as strong as they once were after 24 years of motherhood. This particular picture is my 13 year old, Kimber. We had taken a drive into the plains and I had gotten out of the car to take a picture of scenery, but when I turned around and she was looking up at me from the passenger seat of the car, I had to take one of her because it looked so much like her than posed pictures I take. This time of year feels like such a collective sigh of relief, doesn’t it? It’s never until I can go outside and sit comfortably for more than a few minutes that I realize how tense and uncomfortably wound I’ve been all winter. It feels so so good to just breathe the fresh air again! ✨JACK: LATELY.✨ It’s been awhile since I’ve given a little update on this pipsqueak. I remember when it was just us and Nora, I recapped a lot more often for her. And I feel bad for not doing it more for Jack. Second kids, man….😅 ✨I love doing these because it helps me remember all the little things about them and their personality at their particular age and stage. I feel like he’s been learning so much and getting smarter every day. ✨His mind and his personality may be growing and changing at an exponential rate, but his tiny little adorable body is not so much. 😂 He can still fit into 12 month pants. 🤦🏻♀️😂 ✨He is hilarious. He makes the silliest faces and is always goofing around. His huge “cheese” face is probably my favorite thing ever. I also love when he does his exaggerated laughing where he puts his hand over his mouth when something silly happens. ✨His most common phrases right now are “Mama, come!” and “See!” when he’s proud of himself for doing something and wants you to look. Also “Look!” and “Watch!” when he sees something cool or wants you to pay attention to something. ✨He still loves @thomasandfriends and @officialpeppa the most. And also Sonic. He just might be our little athlete. He can kick and throw REALLY well and is currently in love with golf and getting really good at it! ✨His favorite foods are all fruit (especially strawberries), @onceuponafarm pouches, perfect bars, Cheetos and mac and cheese. He’s in a pretty picky phase right now so I’m hoping that passes 🤞🏻. ✨He is already starting into the toddler “I can do it myself” phase. He is saying “I try!” when he wants to do things himself and always fights me lately with the car seat buckle. He really wants to get that one down himself. ✨Having a boy is so much fun!
